ComicBookResources has the preview as the Australian adventures and the threat of the bonds between reality and fiction breaking apart continue.

Brisbane, Australia.

... the story so far.....

It's been several months since the incident underneath the Citadel, and every since the wounding of the subconscious psychic entity Leviathan that keeps stories alive humans have not been able to cope with the "reality" of their lives.... especially the talented artistic types who are committing suicide. Tom Taylor is coming to town, to give a lecture, and several new and key players have entered the story, in order to keep....

awww heck with it. I KNOW I am not going to do a good job to get your interest.

In short, new bad guys have a new faith of converting the "real" people into fiction and crossing the boundaries between the two, making life unstable. And Tom Taylor seems to be the focal point of this power....

I didn't know where the story was going, now that is has focused on new characters, but you still have scenes like this that make you wonder "what will they think of next?".

Morrison... Gaiman... Is that you? O_O

why have i not heard of this?

also i want to take this story out under the bleachers and not get it pregnant (as i would only take a boy under the bleachers and as far as i know i can't get boys pregnant... but i would try :)

oh i have. Harry, Neville and Ron have all had several happy children... it just... never appealed to me... never really read a good MPreg story that did not come off as silly.... or... disturbing...

Unwritten is the only non-superhero book I subscribe to, and definitely has shades of Gaiman to it. It's a very meta sort of story about stories. Last summer I picked up the first two trades and wound up loving it so much I made the jump to buying back issues and then subscribing once I'd caught up.

YMMV

Ages ago I read one in the Vorkosigan universe where they strapped one of the artificial wombs to Ivan's back and Miles cheerfully clapped him on the shoulder and said "Congratulations! You're pregnant!"

No idea where the story might be nowadays.

I see they remembered that a car's driver's-side is on the right in Australia, which is already making it more faithful than half of the comics I've seen that have had scenes set in the country.

On the other hand, as far as I'm aware Toll booths are gone in Brisbane - they moved to an electronic charging system at least a couple of years ago, so they removed the boom gates that they used to have on the Gateway bridge. I guess this is an alternate world, though - maybe the person responsible for removing them decided to become a magician instead in this world.

Reality isn't quite as real anymore so in fact the universe is now a couple years behind itself (roughly the time it takes for a novel from an established author to go from concept to publication) in terms of most developments because they haven't had time to integrate such concepts into the 'story' yet.

No prize?

Huh. I'm glad that the caption was there to tell me that this was set in Brisbane because I wouldn't know it, and I live here.

Yeah, in 2009 we went to exclusive etolls, though I'm now wondering if we're bogan enough to have a toll for horses or not.
