The door opened, revealing the thing's master- a demonically exaggerated Wilson Fisk.

(This was about a year after the Punisher'd waged war against the Kingpin.)

The looming ogre mocked the Punisher before throwing him to the mercy of those sitting at their master's feet and on his back.

They had their turn, jeering that they were just like the Punisher, that they'd learned how to hurt and what to aspire to from the things he'd done.



The Punisher awoke gasping from his dream.

He got up and went to wash his face.

I took it as Hell would allow him to further punish criminals since "hey! he is better at punishing people than even we are!"

What could they do to him that he hasn't put himself through several dozen times already? For all his punishing other people Castle's got a masochistic streak a mile wide.

I'm pretty sure the best hell for Frank would be just sending him to heaven.

Then he'd be stuck in a place with no bad guys to kill, and where the worst person there is is basically himself. It'd be another twist of the knife if his dead family didn't even want the man he's become in their (after)life.
