I am playing with this theme in a Curse of Strahd campaign I am running. Nothing like seeing people who were honorable and kind meet bad ends to convince someone that evil is the only rational way forward.

I like this overall, but they really could have shown not told when it comes to dialogue like 'you're an ugly bastard with skin like a lizard'. Like, even if the Aunt is an asshole - who speaks like that?

I think one of the many things about Forever Evil that makes it hillariously bad is that we're supposed to believe all this happened in less than a week and then got sorted out even faster
