Amazing Spider-Man #900

So this the big 900th issue... this is largely a stand-alone caper where not much important happens in the grand scheme of things (I'll try to post more pages later) but the last two pages do give us an idea at what Spidey's new status quo is.





The last panel in case you're wondering... Dr. Octopus's tentacles (independently of Otto himself) now like Spidey apparently. 

Speaking of Otto, Anna Maria Marconi is back and it appears she's still pining for Otto (or at least viewing him as a back-up). So we'll see where that goes in the future...

I'm not a fan of "Doctor Octopus wants to kill Spider-Man" after everything that's gone down over the past decade or so. Come on, Otto, show some more growth. Leave "shallow and never changes" to people like Electro and Vulture.

Though if the tentacles, which have been mentally linked to Otto for so long, are crushing on Spidey...

"Yeah, MJ is with this guy and his two kids. Peter is hated by everyone. ...hm? You don't like that? Okay, MJ is dead, killed by a character from a completely different comic series...or is she? We're not telling, but she's not with Peter!"

It wouldn't be the first time MJ was "killed" off-panel by a random mutant. Fans didn't buy it last time, either.

Seriously. Superior Spider-Man made Otto into a truly complex character. Insane amount of character growth, but at a believable pace. Him coming out of all that with barely an alteration to his character is just bad writing.
