Kate Beaton of "Hark, a Vagrant" writes a webcomic that is full of awesome, win, history, and Canadianness. She recently posted a new comic that contains a version of Wonder Woman we are unlikely to ever see.

... Holy shit, you're right. I never thought of it that way, but making Wonder Woman a totally honest but tactless asshole would kind of be awesome. The joke here is that I'm totally serious.
I love how COMPLETELY freaked out the cat is in the last panel. Also, how unusually blue-collar this version of Diana is. She's not only not anxious to help, she's annoyed because the little old lady is interrupting her smoke break. 'I stand for TRUTH! - and the TRUTH is that I'm in a bitchy mood right now, 'cause people have been on my ass all day about all kinds of dumb #%^%, so count yourself lucky that I didn't make you rescue your own damn cat'. Seriously, though, if she wanted to, Kate Beaton could draw a great traditional WW. Look at those three panels where she's taking care of the cat - look at her expression, the way her hair flies back, the clenched fist, the practiced way she tosses the lasso. That's classic Wonder Woman there.
"Hark, A Vagrant!" is definitely a comic worth checking out. I wouldn't call it one of my favorites, just because it doesn't have an ongoing story, and I don't tend to be as impressed with gag-a-day strips (even extremely well executed ones) as I am with those that carry on a narrative. But other than that, Beaton's work is pretty damn near perfect; her drawing style is impeccable and full of delicious detail, and her writing leaves me in stitches, even when I have no idea what she's talking about (being not a strong student of history, Canadian or otherwise).
In this way H,aV! is kind of like XKCD, in that I just don't get about 30% of the jokes, but I enjoy the jokes I don't get a bit more in H,aV! just because the art is so lovely. Not that I don't also love XKCD, but there isn't as much to look at, generally speaking, in Munroe's work, whereas Beaton always has something to offer.
When you line up the Wednesday Comics sequel, be sure to call Kate Beaton to do the Wondy segment! Unlike the previous writer/artist, you can at least read her handwriting.
