So I couldn't decide if I wanted to post this story or a Daredevil story from the same issue. I chose this one because this is a feel good story while the DD one is seriously depressing. If requested I will post the Daredevil story but be warned that it's a cure for being happy.

Without further ado

Happy Hulk! I kinda want this as a icon...

Gah! Dammit humans!

Hulk destroys the planes and flees. Meanwhile at a nearby circus a clown is complaining to the Blob that "the freak" is not pulling their weight at the circus. Blob tells the clown that "the freak" is his best friend and proceeds to throw the clown outside. Blob prepares a dish of food and enters a large tent.

D'aww

Meanwhile Hulk is hungry and approaches a hot dog stand in the circus.

The fight draws the attention of the Blob and he and the Hulk begin to fight.

Unus joins the fight and Blob tries to crush the hulk against his force field but Hulk is able to move the field with his strength. Hulk declares that "this place is stupid!" and retreats to a remote location with the duo in tow. Blob and the hulk get into a slug-fest until...

Hulk manages to punch hard enough to disrupt Unus' field so we come to our last page.

Power of friendship!

In amongst all the cymbal-crashing, that's a pretty good story.

That was a surprisingly sweet story. The Blob isn't usually this much of a sweetheart, to my knowledge.

The art is surprisingly adorable too. I kinda want to icon that panel of the Hulk eating hot dogs.

There's an issue* in the 90s where Avalanche (who's been away from the Brotherhood) finds out Pyro is dying of the Legacy virus and has a serious friendship talk with him on the balcony, even hugs him, while Blob in the other room calls them gay for being affectionate. And then that Fantasia woman goes "Jealous, Dukes?" or something to which he flips the fuck out and destroys furniture until the house owner Empyrean stops it. So yeah, he's an ass. Or maybe he's missing Unus, or does protest too much. Or all of the above. *shrugs*

*notable because we find out both Pyro and Revanche (Psylocke's british body) has the Legacy virus.

I love it when we see that even villains can be friends, and proper friends not "I'm allied with you until I can stab you in the back, bwah-ha-ha-ha." The members of the Serpent Society, Flash's Rogues, and these two (even if Unus would have a rather sad end... IIRC)

Oh that's right, in Morrison's run he was suddenly alive on Genosha again, wasn't he?

Not Necrosha, I was thinking of Morrison's story just after Genosha was wiped out by the Mega-Sentinels.

I thought he died on Genosha in the Son of M mini when Pietro tried to repower him with the Terrigen Mists.

He came back for a bit during Necrosha, but honestly who didn't?

Don't forget Harley and Ivy!

True, though I don't think of them as friends so much as an on-again/off-again couple! :)

Really? That's not really a dynamic I've seen them have...ever.

The first time they met, Ivy was planning on killing Harley, but ended up feeling really bad for her and the two became friends. The two had a great mini exploring their dynamic and later, in Harley's miniseries, you really see how close they are. (Ivy takes Harley's place in order to save her from getting assasinated, it's pretty heartwarming.)

And, of course, Ivy's the one who gave Harley her superpowers.

In one of the later BTAS comics, when Ivy turns into her green self, she becomes hostile towards all humans (Since she doesn't even see herself as human any more), even Harley, and tries to actively kill her.

She doesn't quite succeed and of course, later she discovers that due to her more plantlike nature she needs carbon dioxide, which is best provided by a human so the Arkham authorities put Harley and Ivy in shared (airtight) accommodation, and Ivy now knows she can't kill Harley because she needs her too.

Wasn't that not actually Ivy, but a plant (pun intended) left to keep Batman off of her back and "keep Harley company"?

So it would appear, though it seemed to think of herself as Ivy, and have her emotions and memories, so I lumped her in.

I can recall a particular moment of clarity/intelligence during the Mackie-Byrne era in which the Sandman - having foolishly attempted to take over and run the Sinister Six - internally reflects that he can only trust the Vulture, as they've known each other long enough, and Alyosha!Kraven, as he is a man of honour like his father.

Not friendship per se, but certainly a better alliance than 'until I can stab you in the back'.

Oh yes. Another good moment was an entire issue in which Juggernaut is trying to take an antique sword to a dealer to be sold, and a kid takes it believing it to be stolen, causing Juggy and Spidey to tussle. When Juggernaut rages at the fact that he is merely trying to raise some money to pay off Black Tom's hospital bill, the kid kindly returns the sword and Cain peacefully leaves.

Not friends but lovers, but in a lot of stories at least, Absorbing Man and Titania gave off a vibe of actually, honestly caring for each other. I always thought the story where Creel gets himself beaten up by Spidey so Titania can get over her androsarachnophobia to be rather sweet.

One of the reasons I enjoy them.

This was the one thing I really ended up liking in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Lucy Lawless and Dude Married to Lucy Lawless were just these two massively manipulative, lying, scheming, murdering, torturing, blackmailing, backstabbing monsters. But at the same time just like, totally sweet on each other.

Man...

Man..Marvel Fanfare. That takes me back. I actually owned this issue, and loved it at the time. Nice to see it still holds up. Marvel should reprint some of these. I think because of the glossy more expensive paper Marvel Fanfare used, the coloring wouldn't be ruined as a reprint, unlike a lot of other comics from that era.

It had some glorious pin-ups too..
