The Kree Skrull War is not over!

Today Upper Deck revealed a new page in the upcoming continuation of the Kree Skrull War. It might be a further spoiler for the Avengers movie being directed by Joss Whedon.

Wait, what?

Okay gang, this is it. The revelation is official. Upper Deck is releasing a set of trading cards that fit together like a puzzle to form five new stories in the Avengers Kree Skrull War Saga. That puzzle finally solves the itching question.

Who will be the villian in the Avengers movie?

CBR thinks it will be decided by cardboard, in the form of a Skrull.

Nick Fury in space! Further confirmation of a movie tie-in? This really could be it...

The Avengers Movie Villain looks like it will be a Skrull.

Not buying the theory - it's a whole year to go, and even when they do start ramping up Avengers product in early 2012, they'll surely be using Other Avengers Enemies?

Although Kree/Skrull war would be a possible thing to do, it adds another element (space travel, aliens) to a film that will already be very full. I'd expect an Earth-based enemy, and probably a team (Masters of Evil?, although not under that name).

They're not allowed to use the word "skrull" in the Avengers movie, or their likeness. The skrull concept is still tied up with the Fantastic Four movie franchise (yeah, that reaaaaally successful one) which is a different entity than the people doing the Avengers movie.

Most speculation says they will use the skrull-inspired aliens from the Ultimates instead.
