By way of Project Rooftop;
A few years ago current Wonder Woman artist Cliff Chiang put forward a notion for a story featuring Japanese characters who would be inspired by the JLA but filtered through their own culture of anime, toku and kaiju...
This could have been a fun Elseworlds, or maybe a DC Nation short...
Meet Batman...

With his inevitable sidekick and enemies!

Superman

Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Flash!

So that's Batman and Robin (and the Joker and Harley) by way of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman
Superman by Way of Mazinger-Z (and others) (I wonder if the kid with the controller is Clark Kent, or Jimmy Olsen?)
Wonder Woman by way of Galaxy Express 999
Green Lantern by way of Cobra
Aquaman by way of Ultraman
and the Flash by way of Mach GoGoGo (aka Speed Racer)
(Of course, I'd have held out for the Saint Seiya inspired Teen Titans, but that's just me...
It certainly could be have been fun, probably moreso than the Super Young Team we DID get....
After all, they started out sketched by JG Jones looking like this

And ended up not looking even remotely Japanese on their own miniseries cover.

And for extra legality, from this weeks "Penguin: Pain and Prejudice"

Wise words...
