Yeah, I guess the creator I associate with the character doesn't have to be the original creator.

I like Slott's SG too whereas she was kind of a joke in the Ditko story that introduced her.

Then you have a character like America Chavez who is great in Kieron Gillen and Al Ewing team books but the Joe Casey mini that introduced her was nothing special and every solo comic she's had has been just awful.
