The older lady is Sumika's former teacher, who is retiring soon. Sumika is in attendance to wish her well on her retirement.
It probably seems weird to post something from volume 8 of a manga when I haven’t posted anything else from previous volumes. I would definitely recommend reading the previous volumes, though. It all starts with Sumika and her husband as newlyweds never actually having consummated the marriage. Much of the comedy comes from them trying to finally take the plunge. At this point in the story, Sumika and her husband have finally done it and now it is mostly about them trying to keep their hands off each other.
