So Cain manages to hit Beast with a punch that avoids doing much serious injury, but does manage to shatter his image inducer?
That's an oddly specific punch.


Psychic knife - focused totality of psychic powers
Psychic dagger - sum of psionic powers.

Presumably it's like the difference between simulants and androids?
C'mon, X-Writers! It's not like Claremont didn't use the phrase often enough.

(And honorary mention to the Soulsword - the ultimate expression of Magik's magickal power!)

Shame that it really wasn't capitalized on. I wonder if the writers even knew what Onslaught's whole deal was after this issue was published

Having followed Jay and Miles episodes on the event, I can guarantee you that they did not.

I'm not too surprised, as Juggy was soon banished to the Ultraverse...which itself was banished a year or two later :(

Did they at least have a vague idea in mind, or just say 'Screw it, toss around Juggy and we'll figure it out later'?

The Onslaught subplot isn't picked up for a while as most of the following issues are concerned about Gene Nation.

Portraying Juggernaut's armor as costume that can be shredded. Psylocke being able to use her focused totality through the helmet.

Yeah, this is just as bad as I remembered it (how I wish I didn't).

As I understand it, Juggernaut's armor is as powerful as his current connection to Cytorakk...so maybe Cain just wasn't earning his keep.

That only happens in extreme cases, like when he joined the X-Men the first time. Generally Cyttorak just doesn't care as long as he has his exemplar out there, being destructive. And at this point of time that's what Juggy was.
