Aug. 3rd, 2023 01:16 pmJon goes to the Sun. So to get extra power to deal with the Justice League allies that is on Superman side. Jon locates and confronts the Flash. They have a discussion that manages to convince him to let Jon handle the Injustice Superman. Jon then rips off Hawkgirl wings and leaves her stranded on a city street. He finds Hal and takes off his ring with a surprise attack. He bum-rush Wonder Woman and takes off into deep space. Which he leave her close to the sun and takes her lasso. Jon know that Wonder Woman will make it back to earth eventually. But he is faster than her. Jon then used Wonder Woman lasso to talk with Damian Wayne.
After taking care of all those articles.
Jon frees Batman and his resistance group from prison off-panel.

Jon is sent back to his world by a Cyborg dimensional multiverse gun.

The last page of a teaser Jon Kent will be appearing in the newly-announced Beast World series involving the Titans.
So nothing really changes in the Injustice World. Superman will continue to be a controlling evil tyrant. The Flash will continue to follow Superman, until he brutally murdered Shazam. Damien will continue to follow Superman until he has an epiphany with meeting ghost Dick Grayson. Hal had a change of heart with trying for redemption after he is arrested after between Injustice 1 and Injustice 2
Batman will get motivated by Jon visit to built a multi-verse dimensional portal to get prime earth Justice League to help him defeat Injustice Superman someday.
Also Earth 2 Red tornado Lois and Val Zod are still trap in the phantom zone. Which is in Injustice Superman fortress of solitude.

Date: 2023-08-03 08:40 pm (UTC)Instead, we get a fight resolved with a super-hug before Kal calls his son from another dimension a "sanctimonious #@&$" and super-slaps him, and then Jon goes home the end.
I think this would have been much more rewarding if Jon had actually changed anything in this particular iteration of the Injustice universe, even if it was just swaying one of Kal's allies to the other side, much less actually getting through to Kal. I hate the idea that this visit didn't affect anything.
I'm hoping there's more future payoff down the line. Tom Taylor is usually pretty good at this. Especially since he wrote so much of that Injustice storyline...

Date: 2023-08-04 06:00 pm (UTC)I mean, surely that's a little bit up to interpretation, isn't it? Those of us who aren't terribly invested in the Injustice universe could imagine this reprimand from his wife and son realigning Clark's path, at least somewhat. It could end up being a totally meaningless waste of time, but just because none of the game pieces have moved from where they were at a certain point in Injustice doesn't mean that everyone's heart is unchanged, or that changes to the heart won't change events.
To be clear, this is a little too have-it-both-ways for my tastes, but I think a reading where Jon's able to do some concrete good exists.
