It's sort of funny, Everett would get better at depicting humans more "realistically" but decided that Atlanteans would retain their more alien features like big eyes, arched eyebrows, etc. The Submariner comics throughout the 60's and 70's kind of made them more human-looking, but John Byrne brought it back, to some degree.
