After 25 issues, we're finally getting into how Snake Eyes is totally a ninja--an affecting and involving storyline that, naturally, no adaptation has ever bothered with. But first, Mutt's dog Junkyard might be a TRAITOR!

Yes, these are two co-existing storylines.
Meanwhile, in Spanish Harlem, someone tries to rob the Soft Master.

It just goes to show you, comics have always been based (Snake Eyes even reads the New York Post!).
The Joes pool their knowledge on Snake Eyes while Soft Master reminisces about old times...

Damn good storytelling from breakdown artist Hama, I must say. Sure would be a shame if a contrived coincidence down the line were to render this story ludicrous.
Now get ready for one of my favorite yellow boxes of all time.

So that's the first half of Snake Eyes' origin, but if you're wondering what's going on with Junkyard the Traitor Dog...

He's a double agent and he's just about managed to take out all of Cobra High Command.
