Huh. I didn't realize Dave Sim took Tarim straight from Conan lore. I know Cerebus started out as a Conan parody/homage. But just as Sim substituted, e.g., Red Sophia for Red Sonja, I figured any other proper names in the work (those, at least, not directly taken from historical figures like Weishaupt) were either original or altered-for-parody ones.
