World's Finest #30 - The boys first trip to Themyscira

So this is a flashback story featuring Wonder Woman having to deal with a locked room murder mystery on Themyscira and, since that's not really her genre, calling in her friends Batman and Superman for their detective and forensic expertise, and of course they bring a tiny little Robin along with them.

It's a fun story, but there's only one moment I'm addressing here because it's so cute



Superman and Robin are dispatched on a side quest, and it's quite a ways away, so....



Gotta say, that DOES look kind of fun!





Oh come on Bruce, let the boy have a kanga! I mean compared to Damian's eventual menagerie, it would barely make a dent in the Bat-animal feed budget.

Some writers really do push Bruce's "grim, humourless creature of the night" to absurdity, and it makes you want to smack him over the head.
Get over yourself and have fun, ya git.
Or if that's just too much for you, stop ruining it for everyone else.


(... given Bruce's track record, it's kind of surprising none of the Bat-animals have ever turned evil.
"Oh, no! Bat-Rabbit's gotten loose again, and her bunny brigade has struck the Gotham Farmer's Market!")

I mean, in Bruce's defence the notion of giving Dick Grayson's Robin a super powerful kangaroo to leap around the rooftops of Gotham is an entirely new level of terror to bring to crimefighting.

But then again, Damian has both a giant dragon bat (Goliath) and an actual dragon (Who is, to my delight, apparently named "Wiggles"), so maybe he could have viewed this as "baby steps"

He met and befriended his dragon in Nightwing #42, a rather enjoyable issue I should post sometime. Whilst rescuing Damian from a bunch of Yakuza, they meet up and the rest is history... or possibly mythologu.

I've definitely read that, yet somehow have no memory of it. And I'm angry about that, because it sounds awesome.

Yeah, that was my read too. He'll indulge Dick a lot, but there are limits, and kangaroos are probably way beyond those limits.

This was a really cute story. I really enjoyed it. I really like this type of continuity back-filling and building out relationships between the heroes. I really adore and relish young Robin.

Honestly World's Finest has been a fun run of past adventures of Superman Batman and Robin reliving some silver age fun.

Seriously I love these comics.
