Only Feral could be tasteless enough to make a nasty dig in a place whose entire population was wiped out.

... why do they keep Feral around again? Or is it a cat thing where they didn't actually chose to have her, she just won't go away?

The Cat Distribution System clearly didn't work for X-Force.

Feral doesn't like anybody else on the team and nobody else on the team likes Feral, but if they got rid of her, they wouldn't have a "Wolverine." (As long as you forget to count Shatterstar.)

Feral kinda just hung around after the team saved her from Morlock justice.

To paraphrase a wise man, maybe they should have looked closer into that.
