Death, the gem and all, actually noped straight away from Thanos and then bonded with Coulson's body. That's why he got the new job.

Marlo is an avatar of Death but not actually Death.

She seems more connected than other psychopomps, though. I can't recall Lady Death ever speaking through Doorman.

And I dunno if Death has spoken through Marlo either. Just inhabited her or assumed her form. Might be I just haven't seen that particular issue though.

This is like saying Batman is an atheist. It feels right for the character until you think for five seconds and remember that he knows several angels and demons ...and some gods.

It is funny to think Norman - who loves using supernatural imagery but doesn't believe in magic, apparently - got tricked into taking part in The Gathering of The Five. "What, I thought it was a D&D group. I always wanted to play but the Sinister Six never invited me to their game nights."

I kind of like Norman and Peter being friends, hope it lasts a bit longer before the inevitable return to villainy. Have to give Zeb Wells credit for actually keeping it going, too.

The weirdest part for Thanos is that her turned her into a rock and even THEN she got away from him and chose to get inside Phil instead.

Nope, still don't buy that Peter Parker, a normal guy, would ever want to be friends with someone that's killed and maimed so many people he loves, even after 'reforming.'

Remember when he used to have issues with Felicia stealing shit? Now it's "oh, you're a mass murderer? Let's hang out!"

Jonah Jameson bankrolled anywhere from two to five supervillains and he gets to be an endearingly blustering supporting character, so Norman after a magic soul cleanse isn't too big a stretch.

They've really sanded the edges off Peter.

As recently as New Thunderbolts, he was reluctant to accept a reformed villain like Abe Jenkins. This is something that's been part of his character since Frederick Foswell in the Ditko days. It's so weird just seeing him on friendly terms with Eddie Brock and there really ought to be an upper limit to the number of second chances he gives to Otto Octavius.

(I guess Kaine worked out eventually)

Though I guess there is precedent for Peter being an absolute idiot around father figures. Why he'd accept a man who drove his own son insane (not to mention all he's done to Peter and his other loved ones) as a father figure is beyond me. At least Jonah has shown some redeeming qualities and is technically family.
