This is a fight that if Batman got in the ring, he’d get his ass kicked by both of these women. And I say that as a guy who’s written hundreds of issues with Batman and loves the character, but that’s what this fight is about. It’s about who is the best fighter in the DC universe. -- Tom King

My favorite scene is the watch party. I wonder if that's Ollie's house or what, and the Canary fan tees are great, as is J'onn leaning irritably to the side to see around Ollie. I do object to Diana yawning as though bored. It seems like a lack of empathy. It's nice for Mr. King, I suppose, that he gets to impose his headcanon on whatever stories he's writing without any interference.

The Diana thing is particularly weird because aside from being friends with Dinah, Diana is also the record holder for submission victories in the underground Victor's Circle on Themyscira, and has likely participated in official unarmed matches simply due to being an Amazon. She should be loving this, if for nothing else as a fellow competitor.

There is almost certainly no one regularly contributing to Big Two superhero comics today who isn't " imposing their headcanons " on characters created by someone else.

(Nor were we free of this in the past - what are all those reinventions from the 80s everyone loves, if not imposition on someone else's previous work?)

I think this is a fun concept for a story. A Rocky inspired fighting competition based comic. I really enjoy the dialogue.
