Enjoying this storyline so far, though it feels like they’re swinging harder than usual at the “Peter Parker is undependable because of all the Spider stuff” even harder than usual. Maybe it’s just my age showing, but it’s really reaching the point where it’s not sympathetic, it’s just sad.

But Pete’s conversation in the beginning is a real highlight, showing their differences in perspective. Stephen battled death as a doctor, but as part of his ascension to Sorcerer Supreme came to accept its inevitability as well. And Peter, as a scientist, looks for the loopholes.

“Did you think you could stop such cosmic forces without cost?”
“Uh… yeah? We do it all the time in this hero gig.”
