I can get him rushing in and throwing cheese-steaks, but Gritty talking and getting punked so easily feels wrong.

A shame, but I suppose it being Madame Masque would run contrary to the idea of Venom going back to street-level stuff.
(Mind you, I'm not sure Rick really qualifies as street-level either...)

Enjoying the lean into A.I.M. being science weirdoes, rather than just bog-standard generic goons.

Okay...so it isn't Cage and it isn't Madame Masque. That "I" could mean there IS no host...but the talking to themselves about the gunpowder... I mean, I've heard some people that they said it to give the illusion of having a host...but they were surrounded by people who have no idea how the normal symbiote relationship works. No reason to do that.

Come to think of it, the symbiote wouldn't say "I". They've been doing the Venom thing long enough to know how to refer to themselves... Unless they said it to give the illusion that there is no host to Dylan...
