Well, that's how it works, right? What you come back as depends on your karma. That's why hindus don't eat meat, you don't want to chow on your grandma.

The idea of a cult that can remotely regress you to a past life, and use that as a weapon, is actually really cool!

Yeah, I don't think it's a concept I've run across in this form before. Interesting approach to a set of villains, certainly. Though given the title character and where he's from, I do wonder about the implications of reincarnation as a contrast to the obvious other afterlife possibilities. Neither Harry nor his pirate alter ego seem the sort to follow a religion where reincarnation is part of the dogma, for instance, so what makes the selection?

I'm curious about what the Absolute version of The Demon would be? My pitch would be a reversion of the dynamic; A good demon betrays the forces of hell for heaven, so Lucifer attaches him to an evil man.

Wouldn't it be a more of a reversion for Nimue to do it, as it was Merlin who bonded him to Blood in regular continuity? And whether Jason was a good man is kinda iffy. In later continuity, when he regained his memory, he didn't seem to think so.
