Major Force is never going to shake off the "Fridge" moment. If he ever shows up in a title, people, including his allies, should mock him for it.

In a weird way, I respect his creators for leaning into it. There's no attempt to sweep it under the rug, no attempt to recast him as just a symbol of national defense turned into authoritarianism. No, he's a disgusting sadist through and through, exactly the kind of guy that superheroes have nightmares about when they reveal or consider revealing their identities to the public. He hasn't shown up a lot in the years since, but he has his niche and he fills it.
