Secret Origins (1986) #7

The only thing of any interest in this retelling of Guy Gardner’s origin is one scene from back when he was a teacher. I couldn’t post just one half page, so I had to pad everything out.

If people didn’t have enough reasons to dislike Guy, now we find out he was a filthy scab!

Some time later, Green Lantern reveals his secret identity and names Guy as his backup.

Guy tries to charge his ring with Hal’s lantern. It does not go well.

Guy’s girlfriend Kari gives Hal a piece of her mind.

Hal hooks up with Kari while Guy is lost in another dimension/comatose.

Next: Secret Society of Super-villains #6.

Maybe it's just the Englehart writing, but Kari seems to have an unusual speaking pattern.
If that's a bug in the design, seems like the Guardians should've been on that.
But with their track record they absolutely do seem like the kind to have lanterns drive people nuts on purpose, just 'cuz.
