Do writers not like Carol or something? Then again, she doesn't have a movie out so there's no need to push her. See also, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Going by her history over the last fifty years, if most of the writers at Marvel don't have something against her, they've got a damn funny way of showing it.

But she especially seems to do poorly at event season, where she's either a thundering dumbass, a mindless thug, or gets upstaged.
Sometimes by her cat.
(maybe it's because a lot of her triumphs are off in her title, when she has one?)

I honestly think Carol is meant to be seen as a reasonable person trapped in a moral quandary. This is the AoR version of Phoenix, a book where Jean Grey is a bullheaded idiot who gets praised for her wisdom.

Honestly feels like Bendis was the only writer that actually liked her.

Its kinda insane.

Bendis seemed to be the only modern writer who liked, and even he had a habit of writing her as a blundering idiot a lot of the time.

Carol's ineffectual authoritarian bits are awful, but at least she never got anything like some of Steve's " sane moderate in a world of extremes " bits.

Blanked on the "Kree vengeance weapon". Then remembered that whole "Car-El" nonsense is apparently still a thing that exists.
(the "icon of their historical oppressors". Though Mar's original red-blue outfit was given to him at random by the Supreme Intelligence? Not sure how much of an icon that makes it, as opposed to random outfit he just had.)

The star is the "Star of Hala". I don't think the color particularly matters, it in particular is the Kree symbol.

Honestly, I think these Marvel civilians are pretty reasonable. They've been in quarantine and apparently cut off from all outside communication for nearly 10 years. I'm not sure real humans would survive as well.

In canon, her chest symbol is a Hala star, and we've seen it worn by various Kree like Captain Glory or Dr. Minerva. I'm pretty sure she wears it honor Mar-vell, but the Skrull civvies don't know that.

Thought their main symbol was the ringed planet used on Mar's first outfit.
