Well, Illyana has had a couple, Sam and Berto were apparently due to get one in the Krakoan era but it got shelved, and Doug has had his own "upgrade" but now it's someone who has definitely earned one.

Yup, Dani Moonstar is getting a solo miniseries!

From Marvel.com's announcement

Dani Moonstar, one of mutantkind's greatest leaders, headlines their first-ever solo series this March! Part of the upcoming SHADOWS OF TOMORROW era of X-Men storytelling, MOONSTAR will be a five-issue limited series written by acclaimed writer Ashley Allen (MAGIK) and rising star artist Edoardo Audino (ASTONISHING X-MEN INFINITY COMIC).

She's led the New Mutants, trained the next generation of mutantkind, and flown alongside the Valkyries of Asgard. Now, a threat rises that only Dani Moonstar's singular talents can overcome! Discover why Moonstar is considered one of the fiercest X-Men as the psychic, bow-wielding warrior embarks on a quest that requires both her mutant strength and her mystical affinity. The series positions Moonstar for an even brighter future, setting the character up for future stories in the Marvel Universe.

When an ancient, soul-sucking weapon is set loose, it’s up to Dani to track it down! But the weapon’s deadly wielder won’t make it easy for her. After recent tragedies, can Dani trust herself to save those closest to her? Or will her self-doubts lead to even more bloodshed?
Moonstar #1 (of 5) goes on sale on on March 4, 2026. The debut issue sports a main cover by Germán Peralta, a variant cover by Joshua "Sway" Swaby, a variant cover by Marcos Martin, and a hidden gem variant cover by Bob McLeod.

Count me interested, though I'm slightly cautious about Dani having "mystical affinity", unless it's directly linked to her Asgardian connections as a Valkyrie and seer of Death

So this is the Peralta cover

This is the lovely alternate cover one by Dani's original designer, Bob McLeod, who first drew her way back in The New Mutants Graphic novel

This is the Joshua "Sway" Swaby one

And this is Marcos Martin's cover.

And here's a sample page from interior artist Eduardo Audino

While on the one hand, Dani getting an ongoing is good and great, the bit about "recent traumas" and facing self-doubts is kind of a worry.
(actually, there seems to be an awful lot of that in solicits for this Even Newer, Even Bolder Era...
... eh, probably just solicit hype. Nothing to be concerned about.)

Is it too much to hope that Rahne is part of the supporting cast?

It's my fondest hope that this series takes time to deal with Dani's personal life as well as whatever comic booky crisis she faces.

Because she's had so very little personal focus for many years.
Hell, go ahead and actually make her queer in mainstream continuity. Give her a girlfriend (cough, Rahne, cough) (or Illyana? They've been spending a lot of time together lately...)

I'm 100% down. Magik was one of the best of the From The Ashes books, this is from the same writer, and Dani was already the secondary protagonist in that. So yes, I'm in.

I hope there's no Demon Bear, unless they define WTF that damn thing actually is.

HDU forget Fallen Angels! (Not that it was a solo title, admittedly. So, um, actually, HDI accuse you of things you didn't do!)

Anyway. This sounds... vague but possibly good. *Plus* it sounds like it really will focus on both Plot and Personal.

I'm happy to have been wrong expecting Marvel to pull some crap like a Marvel Voice one shot or an Infinity Comics webtoon.
Also now I'm less annoyed at Colossus replacing her as Magik's partner.

Allen seems to love the character, she did well with Yana, so this may be very good. Now the X-editors and the other X-writers need to respect Dani too.
I hope she will get a proper costume and a definitive power set. She needs to stop changing power a relying on new weapons.

I'm worried about the "recent tragedies" because that series will begin just after the X-Men issue in which future Cyclops wants to kill Doug to prevent Baddoug.

Would it be so much to ask that a person with actual Native experience writes the book? There are so many talented Native writers they could ask...
