Superman meets Homelander on his world. He is killing people and wonders if Superman was sent to kill him also.

They heat vision each other and are evenly match. So Superman comes up with another strategy.
















Nobody really won there matches. It was all basically a tie battles. Well maybe Annabelle won her mind game with Joker.

I guess DC comics didn't want disrespect the IP of the other companies characters too much. With them losing to the DC comics characters.

My expectations were quite low going into it, which is why I was surprised at how disappointed I was.

Joker Vs Annabelle was funny
Lex vs Sam was a fun fight but I'm not sure how realistic it was.

We didn't even see Batwoman vs Vampirella, and barely saw Sabrina vs Star Sapphire.

Agreed. This issue was incredibly weak given the potential we had for some epic (or at least interesting) clashes. Even the fight I think everyone wanted to see (Superman vs Homelander) was more of a wet thud than a headliner bout.

Everyone involved should be disappointed with themselves and promise to do better next time.

Yeah a bit underwhelming. Not having Joker fight Sam was a missed opportunity.

This was a one-shot desperately longing for the breathing room of a miniseries.

And much like the old 90s "Marvel vs. DC", the question of "What if these characters got in a fight" seems to have such a straightforward answer that it makes one wonder why ask the question in the first place. Needed a creativity injection, to my mind.

Modern Superman v. Homelander? Meh.

Captain Carrot v. Homelander? Now THAT'S a fight I'd wanna see.

That's him fighting Plastic Man. He's creating a spiked ice ball. The look is based on his Mortal Kombat 1 appearance.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion fought Plastic Man and Black Lightning. It was one of the more forgettable fights in the book (and in this book, that is saying something)

Well, that was pointless.

I hope no one ever lets Luthor forget his performance here. Lex was wearing his ultra-tech battle armor that lets him trade blows with Kryptonians, and he spent his time here getting smacked around by a middle-aged woman with a knife. It's not like Sam Strong has bear powers or anything.

...so...is the joke here that the doll doesn't do a damn thing on any panel and Joker is acting like this is the fight of his life? If so, that's a good joke.

It is. It's not often that I consider the Joker a highpoint of a story he's in but that really made the Joker/Annabelle "fight" the best part of this issue

Ever since I first saw the promo for this, I thought it just felt like DLC for a fighting game.

Now it feels like you've downloaded the DLC only to realize none of the new characters have special moves and any fight you use them in ends after one round and kicks you back to the title screen.
