Mod Post: Off-Topic Tuesday
Mar. 31st, 2026 10:17 amIn the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.
Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.
The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than scans_daily. But please, no doomscrolling, for your own sake.
The Artemis II mission is due for take off this week, and we wish them well
The newly recovered Doctor Who episodes will be available in the UK on BBC iPlayer at 6am this coming Friday.
"Chag Pesach Sameach" to those who celebrate Passover
"Happy Easter" to those who celebrate Easter
"Happy Cheap Chocolate Egg Eve" to those who celebrate that.
"Happy Long Weekend" to those who celebrate neither and don't like chocolate.
and "We're Terribly Sorry" for those who have to work over the aforementioned long weekend.
Lot going on in real world today, so that's about it.

Date: 2026-03-31 11:34 am (UTC)Yes he's finally finished....Game of Thrones: The Mad King the Broadway prequel play.
In other news Stephen Colbert is making a Lord of The Rings sequel, which sees the hobbits come together after Frodo's death to finally adapt the early chapter's Peter Jackson skipped over.
Well they announced that they were going to announce the release date for season two of the live action Avatar The Last Airbender show tomorrow. So we'll finally know how long we have to wait until we get to see just how slightly more feminine Live Action Toph is....
(huh I guess the guy on Reddit who said we'd get an update in March was right).

Date: 2026-03-31 12:02 pm (UTC)Superman and the Justice League. I won’t be continuing this series. You know times are bad when I would rather read Justice League Task Force over the main Justice League book. Everybody acts like ineffectual idiots and it almost seems as if Dan Jurgens doesn’t like the Justice League. The cool and important new villain can conveniently summon any weapon to defeat the League, which I just found tiresome. Also, the Martian Manhunter is pretending to be some guy called Bloodwynd for... reasons?
Inglorious X-Force. The return of Qvex Natre! This series is an effing delight! How long do you think it will take for it to get cancelled?
Sub-Mariner. Oh, no. Not Captain Mackenzie! We only knew him for five minutes. Of course, his father isn’t the only loved one Namor will lose. He is almost as cursed as Matt Murdock.
Suicide Squad. It has almost become a cliché to say this, but I miss when Amanda Waller was more morally ambiguous than straight up evil. She was far more competent as well.
Thor by Walter Simonson. What else can there be said about this run on Thor? You all know how awesome it is. More specifically, the Surtur War is just starting to heat up (ha!)
