Have a Harley/Ivy Christmas!

Christmas is so much more fun in the DCAU. Especially when it features our second favorite blonde/redhead DC couple -- Harley and Ivy.



It's nice to see a couple with differing religions/belief structures can traverse through the stickiness of the holiday season.

Meanwhile Bruce is suffering through a Holiday party.

While making his great escape from the kissing mob, Ivy (she's in the background there) lays one on him and the girls take him for a drug induced joy ride to the department store. They want Brucie to pay for their shopping spree. Which leads to one of my favorite Harley/Ivy pages.

Bruce struggles to throw off the effects of Harley's kiss but unfortunately ends up down an elevator chute. The girls are suitably mortified.

But he's not dead! He's Batman!

Wait, Harley and Ivy aren't down ... yet.

But given that it's Christmas, good triumphs evil. I think that's what that smile on Bats means. Either that or he's going to try and find out just how naughty Harley and Ivy can be.

Personally, I never thought going by the show's really lopsided seasons made much sense (it's confused by the show having three different names and the DVD releases coming in "volumes" that don't match up with seasons at all) - but Holiday Knights is the first episode in The New Batman Adventures (aka BTAS: Volume Four if you're looking at DVD titles), so season 3.

I've always wondered what Mr. J would do if he found out. I mean he's killed men for whistling at Harley.

Then again, he's probably thinking: "Well, at least she's not bugging me for any."

Yeah despite being enough of an abusive psychopath to make the romance of Twilight look stable Joker is still protective of Harley when it comes to other people hurting her.

That bothered me in the Arkham Asylum game where one of his throwaway lines over the intercomm implies that he'd let any goon that kills Batman rape Harley.

It was a video game written by Paul Dini away from most of the standard editorial baggage so I don't think it is fair to blame DC in general for that one.

Particularly with the infflection Mark Hamil put on "date" and "surprise" I am inclined to believe it is something far darker.

The date thing, I think would just piss her off so I could see how it would work. And she'd yell at him/kick the crap out of him for it or it would backfire and she'd flirt with a guard and then he'd be pissed off and then their whole cycle of craziness would start all over again.

Or it could be one of those promised rewards that sounds good on paper but sucks whgen you get it. Harley'd probably smack the guy with her mallet and then Joker would kill them for trying to touch his girl.

The look of horror when the mob of ladies comes to kiss him deserves to be iconned! =)

Although given the choice between facing Harley and Ivy and the mob of kissing ladies, I'd rather take facing Harley and Ivy. =)

And it's times like these when I can't decide if I should pity Ivy or laugh at her expense. Being with Harley all the time makes me wonder why Ivy hasn't torn all her hair off her own head in frustration at this point.
