The art style is primarily cartoony and kind of nice looking with the occasional exagerated ugly face Plas made.
I guess Kyle Baker gave ugly faces to Clark, Bruce and Diana to try and get a comedic effect, just look at Ra's, the backgrounds characters and Diana's profile shots and you'll see they look more simplified and not as horrible.
Well, Mary's eulogy for Billy is really rather sweet and touching... but the rest of this is just... ummm.. insane? And Light moved on from rapist, to... what? Necrophiliac pederast?
I think that it is a parody of how dark and overly sexualised comics were getting at the time. As shown with having such a Golden Age character like Billy getting killed and molested, and Mary's touching eulogy getting overshadowed by the considerably... unfunerally way Huntress, Peeg, Catwoman etc. are presented.
That and the "superheroes are role models" message being implied to be inappropriate because of how the superheroines dress and are drawn or something, I don't know.
Okay. The sarcasm and parody is so strong I can't even imagine how people have missed it. A big "Children look up to us" speech accompanied by big-busted women in skimpy outfits? "Because that's what Light does now" and "Clark, here we go again", and Batman's sorrow at the light coffin accompanied by wanting to scratch himself.
Not to mention the lover's tiff between Kal and Diana. "Yesterday you put the milk carton back with only one drop of milk left in it!" I'm sorry, but this was hilarious.
The best parts where with Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman. The IC parody, the "carefree weekends at Bruce's ski cabin" comment, Batman saying "I'll slap you so hard your grabdchildren will look like me" to Clark (for some reason activated my slash meter), and last but not least "YOU AND BRUCE NEVER VALIDATE MY FEELINGS! AND THAT HURTS ME!" fucking made me lol! I swear it's like the three of them are married.
Anyway, I loved Kyle Baker's Plastic Man run and I so want Morgan and Edwina to be in continuity.
It's funny, but the bit about the heroine's attire is kind of hypocritical. I mean, you might as well start bitching cuz the superheroes wore their tights. Those clothes are inappropriate all the time! For everything! Those of us who like superheroes enjoy the costumes because they're pretty, not because they make sense.
At least the boys get tights- Batman doesn't have to break out the Bat-Home-Bikini-Wax-Kit every time he wants to appear in public in his outfit.
He still does anyway, of course, he just doesn't have to. But look, little bat-shaped wax strips! How could any self-respecting Batperson pass up the chance to use them?

I also like how Diana crashed through the wall with the jet. XD
