... but Tower of Babel makes Bruce look so stupid. Why any Batman fan enjoys that story is beyond me; not only does it set him up as a sadistic hypocrite who's unwilling to kill bad guys but will happily plot the murder of his friends (which doesn't seem to bother a lot of Batfans, for whatever reason), but it makes him a moron about it, which ought to bother anyone, Bat-fan or not, since his mind is supposed to be his superpower, and making him dumb is just bad writing.
I mean, even before you get to the problems inherent in the system itself or the fact that Ra's was able to access it, those are some of the dumbest contingency plans ever. The three most physically powerful Leaguers get takedowns that wouldn't even work against mind control, and Arthur's takes multiple hours to even kick in. I will believe Bruce is not nicer than that. I will never believe Bruce is not smarter than that.
League of One, by contrast, gives Diana victories that make sense. It serves the characters, and makes Diana seem phenomenal, while Babel uses the characters and makes Bruce seem incompetent. It hardly makes the latter a useful rebuttal to the former.

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
