That would work beautifully. For OMD to work, one of the few scenarios I could see is something like that (and definitely not what happened in the comics). Then it could go like: both of them come out of the closet, they get an amicable divorce and stay really good friends, MJ ends up with Felicia (and Peter maybe ends up with a revived Harry Osborn or with Johhny Storm? or with someone else entirely, or stays happily single for a while). I like that theory; I like the Peter/MJ ship better, but I still like that theory lots!
