There's a fyeahdickgrayson poster on Tumblr who is really awesome. Anyways, she got a homophobic and derogatory comment from an anonymous follower after posting three slashy images of Dick. When I saw that, I thought Dick Grayson himself would not approve of such a comment from a fan. And I remembered reading this. This was after one of Dick's fellow colleagues punched another officer, who's gay.
Dick Grayson is one of the most optimistic, caring and compassionate superhero dudes out there. I mean c'mon, he's gotta put up with Damian.
And a fanart because it's sexy and I couldn't resist :-)

He calls the gay roommate a fag constantly, says the idea of being touched by a guy man makes him want to kill himself, finds the very idea of gay sex repulsive, and constantly tries to tell everyone how he could totally be banging like a million chicks but he only has sex with people he loves. Oh and he also fakes an injury to get pain killers knowing one of his roommates has a problem with pain killer addiction and has only been clean for 6 months.
Oh did I mention he constantly snuggles with guys, while rubbing their ears?
He manages to get the entire house to hate him, in one day. Something I don't think has happened EVER on the show.

... as a result of repressed homophobia and resentment that he has to "put up with" being assigned as the "gay outreach superhero" by Vought-American, who's the Big Bad corporation in that particular superhero universe (think Wolfram & Hart, etc.).

Myself, I always thought it did go over that line, much as I hate to say bad things about Rick Veitch. Even given the time.
