Man, as a kid I couldn't figure out why this art bugged me so bad. Now I'm pretty sure it's the inking. Or rather, the combination of those inks on those particular pencils, producing an unholy alchemy that has all the characters being portrayed by plastic action figures. It's like Twisted Toyfare Theater all over again.
