Team Titans #2 Total Chaos Part 6!

I'll be trying to finish this up soon since I realize I've been lazily posting lately, hope you all enjoy! And it's time to meet the totally non 90's epitome, Battalion! 7 and 1/3 pages from a 24 page story.

Continuing from the last Bit Goddess Troia/Donna survived the attack on her from her future despot son Lord Chaos who kidnapped his baby self. Troia sense her son in the heavens where Chaos was earlier and goes to find him, Starfire takes off to try talking to Donna and Mirage is...Mirage.



Cause when a girl rapes a guy, it's hilarious! *eyeroll* Ad certainly why Mirage is my most disliked Team Titan'er, since she could've had great characterization given her story but instead we get...this.

The other Teamers get annoyed that Mirage is following Dick willy nilly and break off.



Clearly the artist and writer weren't on a good wavelength when remembering that Vampires try to avoid clear and beautiful sunny days like the backdrop seems to imply.

Cue a local gang beating a guy up the Team'ers try to foil but do rather horribly at since they're used to fighting wars not mere thugs. (Which realy doesn't make sense, I could see a regular hero not being ready for military battle but the other way around? Seems odd) 

But Dagon interferes while the other Teamers are getting their butts handed to them (Redwing gets her wings on fire and Terra has a bullet graze her(



And there's some of Dagon's sunny disposition.



Readers of the time grew more interested at this point of the story.



Terra's grin there gets me every time. :D Poor Killowat, in love with Mirage but so ignored.

Meanwhile we get to see the gang who got beat up by the Team Titans (minus the one member Dagon killed).



Future Nightwing again! Loved that guy.

The Team Titans and New Titans re-unite but before terry can get kidnapped Lord Chaos shows up to attack him and at that same time Troia also pops in which we'll see plenty of in part 8 of this arc. 

But the real focus of this issue is Battalion! So here we go!

Poor gang. Beaten up three times an issue.





The Team Titans drill instructor from hell! And yet I still like him better than Mirage.

I kinda find it funny just because it's the sort of completely inappropriate thing that Pantha WOULD say - it'd probably sound different coming from someone else.

Well... personally... I from what I've seen, Team Titans looks pretty horrible. Though that IS just me. How did Marv go from Crisis to... THIS?

Self confessed chronic writers block, and constantly editorial changes.

Plus, he's noted that had he been told, or suspected, that the Team Titans were going to be anything other than a one shot deal he'd have created different characters.

What's sad is that Marv's Gary Stu character, Terry Long seems to play a fairly big role in his and Perez's run. Coupled with the baby, it makes me not want to look them up, even though I've heard good things about it. But a guy in his mid-30's and Donna Troy? Ugh...

I honestly have to ask, who is worse: Terry Long or Danny Chase?

That was like, the second time Dick got called a slut for that, so I guess the writers thought it was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS LET'S REHASH THIS JOKE TWICE, ESP. AT A VERY INAPPROPRIATE MOMENT

I think I only remember liking 500 ft tall crazed arrogant Goddess Donna in this storyline and............that's about it.

I am so freaking confused. Every time someone posts non-Vertigo DC from the 90s I'm reminded how much I did not read and am made glad. Two things: one, Terra was alive again at some point? Two, please tell me this isn't Kevin Maguire I see being wasted her--aw shit, it is.

Every single facial expression in this comic is like that.

Yeah, I was never a fan of Maguires work for that, the sneeze comparison is a good one.

That is one of the weirdest-looking, most flamboyant street gangs EVER. They look like something out of Mad Max. I mean, what the hell kind of 'street clothes' are those? Has Kevin Maguire actually ever BEEN in a street with people wearing clothes in it?

They look like they stepped out of a Brian Bolland drawn Judge Dredd story, especially given the colours used.

That's another possibility, yes. They don't look anything like a street gang from the PRESENT, anyway, including the 'present' in which it was written. A modern-day street gang would laugh themselves sick at them.
