Are they trying to make this Chloe unlikeable? I mean, say what you will about Jimmy Olsen, but you can count on one hand (literally there's like Lois and then him) the reporters/journalists in Metropolis (or the rest of the DCU) who have been in the middle of literally "Crisis" level events. If Chloe is really an acclaimed journalist she would respect the work he has done and not just dump him because he got "boring". I mean I seriously doubt LexCorp dude is on a first name basis with Supergirl, Steel, Superboy, what have you as Jimmy is.
From what I read, they're basically saying that since the end of New Krypton and Superman's taken his walkabout, he's been pretty much vegging on the couch, playing the Superman video game. Depending on how long it's been, I can see why she would be annoyed by him.
Plus, Chris Sims on Comics Alliance had an interesting meta perspective--since about Crisis on Infinite Earths, they really haven't used Jimmy all that much, or at least in the same way that he was done in the Silver Age, because they wanted to move past that and try to be more "serious." Hell, it wasn't until New Krypton that we've actually gotten to see Jimmy do anything big and action-y--that isn't in All-Star Superman--that wasn't scrambling to get White a cup of coffee.* So this is more of addressing that, and we're going to see more of a Jimmy from that era--where he would frequently get into strange and zany adventures, and Chloe is part of that wake-up call to get him back in the game.
I can see that (and another story ignoring Countdown will always get a "Hell, Yeah!" from me). Still Jimmy was arguably the primary mover in getting the New Krypton story at the risk of his own life and that should have been a HUGE story (considering you know the whole genocide thing and Sam Lane committing suicide). If this takes place post-NK then Jimmy's cred as a journalist should be at an all-time high, not someone who be casually talked down to by an "internet" reporter and a LexCorp yuppie. Or am I missing something?
He literally says that he hasn't done anything besides play a video game based on Superman since he took the walkabout. If you haven't read the whole part, Comixology has it for free on their site.

This is one of those observations that makes loads of sense if you haven't actually read a Superman comic since 1980 or so, isn't it? Like that thing about Superman not inspiring anybody.
Now that The Question's ended, this is officially the best second feature that DC Comics is producing. I would KILL for something like this as a full-fledged on-going.
Not a huge fan of the art.. everybody looks constipated. And why bring a character into continuity about five years after she was mildly relevant, only to have her be a vain shrew...? Silver Age Lucy Lane would have totally sufficed for that. On the other hand, crazy Jimmy Olsen adventures! Let's get this thing started!
