This episode is called Knights of Tomorrow

preview clips up.

My only major issue for Grayson in the animated cartoons is that they never get a voice actor who can do his joking voice and his series voice. The guy from Batman: TAS was okay. I think Will Friedel could probably do a good job if he did it like Terry McGuiness from Batman Beyond.

Neil Patrick Harris voices him like he is Spider-Man.

Other than the voice acting for Batman and the Joker I thought this episode preview looked good.

This voice actor just doesn't have a good handle on Dick as Batman though

now to make this post legal

I didn't like this actor as the Joker at first but he's grown on me.

I think it *is* their usual Joker voice actor (Jeff Bennett), but he's trying to sound like an old man (so the voice is a bit softer and reedier).

We won't really know 'til the credits are put up online (CN makes it damn near impossible to read them even if you do pause your DVR).

It's an odd one I agree, now to be fair, ANYONE is going to be gauged against Mark Hamill, which is really unfair, and can lead to unfortunate results (John DiMaggio as The Joker in "Under the Red Hood" just came across as Bender impersonating Mark Hamill), so I applaud the likes of Kevin Michael Richardson and Jeff Bennett for doing their own thing.

Jeff appears to be picking an interesting route with the Joker, and that is that he's not actually that funny, he's insane, and evil, and he's got a smile fixed on his face, but a somewhat warped sense of humour to one side, he's really not that "wacky".

He's also one of the few Joker voice actors I've heard who *deepens* his voice for the role. Most go higher-pitched (even Kevin Michael Richardson, who has a pretty deep voice to start with).

I actually really liked John MiMaggio as the Joker. I felt like he gave it a good twist. Certainly a butcher one than we're used to.

Kind of like Jake the Dog, but not as scary.

I can't watch UTRH without thinking, "So this is what Dr. Drakken's doing these days."

Not that I mean that as a complaint! :)

When I first heard the Joker in B:tBatB (in "Game Over for Owlman!"), I thought Bennett was going for a Jack Benny vibe. Which I liked!

Not a comedian I'm familiar with, though I know the name and know he's huge in the US.

When I read Dick Greyson I actually hear it in Will Freddle's Terry voice.

But now that Batman Beyond is in continuity...

BTAS really spoiled me in terms of VA. Loren Lester did a great job of voicing Robin; too bad his Nightwing voice was never really showcased--it was pretty good, too. Kinda husky, but still sounds young and there's still traces of the Robin cockiness.

The Dick!Bats here sounds a bit too...young, IMO.

Homaging Robin's first cover AND the opening credits to the 60's show in under 50 seconds? Impressive.

When "The Batman" modified their opening to include Robin, they also used the "jumping through the paper-shield" moment, which I thought was a cute homage.

I always loved that in the opening :)
Come tot think about it, they had a pretty decent Robin.

That was pretty cute! He was a bridie, hehe! And he was snarky and kick-ass, but also a kid (i.e. he could get scared or be vulnerable). Reminded me a bit of "Robin Year One" Grayson! The only regret I have is that Batgirl was inexplicably dropped once Robin appeared. Especially after those few great episodes with them interacting!

Ummm, she's a regular for the whole season after Robin's debut. she made fewer appearances in Season 5, after they started using JLA guest stars and explained it as her now going to college.

Ah, that`s right.. Well, they did have that nifty team up in the alien invasion episode. And their strategy for disobeying Batman was brilliant. "We quit! We`re helping because we want to and there`s nothing you can do about it!"

Thanks for the link! I did a bit more digging, because I heard Stargirl's in the "Cry Freedom Fighters!" opening, and found these pages:

Much as love me some Damian Wayne, I'm glad CFF is tonight. Stargirl!

I actually think that out of all the all people who`ve voiced Dick so far, the person in The Brave and the Bold gets his right. He`s light, yet focused with a youthful touch. I quite enjoy his voice acting.

And Holly Molly, an episode centred on the one and only Richard John Grayson? SERIOUSLY?? And he gets to be Batman no less? First they show the awesomeness of Disco!Wing...correction, first we see him as the original Boy Wonder (pixie boots and all), then we have him as Earth 2 Robin and finally as Nightwing in his happy times threads. And now he`s got the Cowl, like in current canon. So much yayness.

Now, if only Jason could get some of that love. I`m pretty sure they could find a clever way of implementing Red Hood into a kids` show. :D (they already had Joe Chill so yeah..). Or Tim, for ONCE. But that`s just my wishful thinking...

Alas for you, they've already had a Red Hood (in the Owlman 2-parter; he was basically the Earth-2 Joker), and Jason showed up briefly in "Emperor Joker!"-- as a museum exhibit for "A Death in the Family" (Bat-mite adding, perhaps ominously, "Guess how I voted!" Batman is puzzled as he hasn't met anyone named Jason yet.)

Batman gives no indication whether he recognises the name "Jason Todd" or not (Batman has the world's best poker-face). And given that Bat-Mite deals in multiple realities (cf pulling out his copy of "DC Who's Who" to read Ten-Eyed Man's biography) there's no guarantee Mite is talking to the right Bat.

Yeah, I know, but that was Joker-Hood. So, y`know, still ever so hopeful *fingers crossed* And the fact that they showed Jay 'dead' (well, that tribute scene anyway) makes think they have the scene set for his 'return'. Maybe. Would be good.

So Damian is going to be in BBtB but still no Tim?

Ugh.

This Damien is probably going to be VERY different from the snot-nose we're seeing in the comics. For one thing, he's Batman and Catwoman's son (since the Huntress in BatB is a variant of Helena Bertinelli).
