CosmicBookNews has the preview as things go from bad to worse for the FF.

Two behind the cut.

Namor is still a dick.

At this point it's almost like watching a scene from the Godfather movie, as the dominoes begin to fall and blood stains the floor as foes rise to power.

Emma on the Phone with Sue: He did what to who!? You were supposed to keep an eye on him!

Sue: How was I supposed to know he'd go all Michael Corleone on thier asses?!

Emma: Have you MET Namor? does the Phrase "Imperius Rex!" mean anything to you?

heh

Sue: But I'd always assumed that that was what he called his... little Namor.

Sue still can't remember that she has superpowers, that's nice.

What do you expect her to do? Throw up some sort of fancy-schmancy force-field around all or part of the city? Slap a water and air proof bubble around Namor's head and tell him to stop being a dick or she'd let him choke? How would she ever....

...Oh right. Sorry.

Seriously? Couldn't he at least have decked her first? How is Sue ever going to work her crush on Namor around 'Slaughtered a little old fish man brutally and started a war'. Is it just going to be trade-off where she keeps his secret while he never tells Emma that Sue's reaction to danger was to stand there looking like she'd watched too much Mad Men and become Betty Draper?

Superpowers

Yes. And two pages later, that's exactly what she does.

Please keep in mind that this is a small snippet from a larger preview, and you really should look at the whole thing before making judgments.

Fair enough. (Taking your word for it. My connection is dead slow and stop thanks to the weather) The whole set up still feels...off-paced and badly plotted. Sue is too passive in reaction to Namor violently killing her new allies and Namor is a blowfish head for not taking Sue out of the equation immediately.

(Possibly I may be pre-emptively grumpy over my suspicions that this new wrinkle in Namor's already less than Daz white moral laundry is going to be resolved in a way that annoys me.)

Eh, I'm sure that Namor will end up being justified in his actions.

After all, he's got his own book now, and has been co-opted into the X-Men. They won't let him be too morally grey, not when they spent so much time in the last couple of years trying to make Scott Summers into that sort of character and failing.

And even if there isn't a specific reason for it to be justified, he can just pull the old, "I'm a king, you people just can't understand what that means" card, and everyone will let it go.

Like I said...in a way that annoyed me :D

The most palatable, I suppose, is 'Well, I knew they were secretly evil all along, but I wasn't going to tell you. Because.'

The least being everyone in universe just ignoring it because they were fishy people and Namor is pretty most of the time.

Eh, I'm sure that Namor will end up being justified in his actions.

I'm sure Marvel will repeatedly tell us he was without ever coming close to actually making it morally justified and/or just decide to pretend this never happened as hard as they can, the way they've done with Iron Man and Reed Richards.

Oh good, so Sue does finally remember she has superpowers, after two people have been viciously murdered right in front of her and large chunks of the city she's in have been bombed and are in flames.

I mean that's a pretty reasonable response time for an inexperienced, helpless rookie superhero such as Sue Richards happens to be.

you really should look at the whole thing before making judgments.

You should really put that sentence on some kind of hotkey macro.

I kind of like this.

Yeah, Namor can be helpful, even heroic occasionally, but HE'S the damn king of the seas: And no one fucking forget it or try to take his title.

I...I want HIckman's trades...

I haven't wanted trades except to finish Sandman and to get all of Planetary and keep up Fables in a long time. I ... I want the trades to this.

Bravo, Hickman, Bravo.

Just posting my theory here, we all know Johnny's the one to eat it though, right? I mean, here's the way I see it:

Ben has drank an experimental serum, turned human.

Reed is off with Galactus, who isn't very happy.

Sue is in the middle of a war with Namor.

Johnny is eating a sandwich.

Just seems like they're diverting our attention so we don't see it coming.

Ooh, is one of them supposed to die?

Colour me intrigued. I've never really cared for the Fantastic Four, but one of them dying (even if it is only for a few months) could be interesting.

I don't know that much of their backstory, but I know Reed was apparently dead in the 90s for a while, so it probably won't be him. Shame, as in this group of characters I don't like that much, he's the one I actively dislike.

The only times the Fantastic Four have ever interested me was when they had other characters subbing in. Namor and She Hulk for example. If Johnny dies and they replace him with... oh I don't know... Iron Fist or Nova (though I think he might be dead at the moment, too) then it could be fun.

But who am I kidding, it'll be Deadpool or Wolverine who join, if anyone does.

Ah, but WHAT a dick it is! When Tony is a dick, I want to smack him, when Namor is a dick, I want to swoon and fan myself and offer myself to be dragged to the nearest cave. Feminism - shmeminism, we're all people here!
