Allegedly this is the concept art of a rejected cartoon where Batman his suppport cast and villains are all teenagers in a high school. Alfred is his guardian and stuff.

I like their versions of Barbara, Selina and Harley. Clayface is interesting, Victor looks like Rusty Venture though.

From here with images not wreck by dumb JPG compression.

For legality,

Not sure where it's from, any help?

I saw this earlier and still I don't know what to think about it.
I like the idea of this TYPE of charcters in an animated series. but not THESE characters you know.

and about the designs I like the Riddler's and Catwoman!

Oh my god Oswald and Eddie are freakin adorable. <3
I really like Clayface's design but this might be my inner pottery/sculpture nerd talking. Still on the fence about Harvey though. His design is kinda meh to me. Otherwise the redesigns are pretty cool. Not sure how it would have been as a show but I like the style.

There are better images at the original artist's website, jeffandceleste.blogspot.com.

Also, their story on it:

"...some time about a year and a half ago, we were approached to create a spec series based off of an old drawing of mine that we then sent to DC. Unfortunately, the project got lost in the sea of all the other Batman related projects in the works. But hey, it was still fun to make.

The Story Synopsis:
We all go through incredible changes as teenagers: growth spurts, bad skin, a sudden insatiable need to uphold justice and avenge your murdered parents…Well, that is if you’re Bruce Wayne.

As if being a freshman at Gotham High wasn’t tough enough, Bruce’s insomnia and technological fascinations are taking their toll. Instead of spending his time studying, he has begun to obsess over an emerging personality trait: Batman. But under the watchful eye of his guardian and steward, Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce is forced to put his intelligence to good use: graduating high school. But given his classmates, can Bruce survive Gotham High?"

Ah - cheerleaders, bad girls, brainy girls. The three options for girls in a high school setting, and no overlap on that Venn diagram.

Maybe this could have been good, but tbh it looks like it was rejected for a reason.

Wasn't "Batman in High School" the original pitch for Batman Beyond?

This looks fanmade, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were real. Kinda cute, but would be totally torn apart by hardcore "let's not enjoy anything ever" Batman fans. Ivy has a pretty nice design for once and I like the look they have for Batgirl(woman?)

Well, Brave & The Bold got a LOT of that back when it was announced, but once it game out it pretty much quickly quieted down. If it was a quality show, the same thing could have happened.

I call shenanigans but I love the idea. In my dreams X-men: Evolution got another season and Scott and Jean and Rogue went to college and Emma was there and was... Emma.

But honestly? I never saw Bruce as playing American football. Tennis, maybe.

Part of me finds the idea wrong on a lot of levels. This is the part that actually cares about things like canon and continuity and would like to see more faithful adaptations of comics.

But that part is being drowned out by the part that loves AUs like Iron Man: Armored Adventures and X-Men: Evolution. This could be good. Hell, it could be great, with the right people.

X-Men: Evolution works in the genre because the X-Men started as a school based series (with a basically anti-estabishment team as a counterbalance in the form of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants) and just expanded that, it has the genre built in. Batman? With his criminal cadre made up mostly of thieves and killers? Not so much.

Good. I cannot, for the life of me, understand American Pop Culture's obsession with goddamn High School.
It's such a tired old trope and I for one am hella glad I'm not a damn teenager anymore.

It's not so much High School I hate as the archetypal American High School. So, so sick of that - and I actually loved being sixteen (granted, the blessed existence of the UK sixth form college probably had a lot to do with that. It's a bit like a US High School, but with a ton of freedom and flexibility. Mine was anyway).

This is okay as maybe like a one-shot, but a series? FUCK THAT.

Also I guess this means the local Robin is closer to Tiny Titans than anything.

I'm really liking the fun artwork and character designs (especially the girls' aww Harley in overalls and Ivy <3) based on this and the concept of something along the lines of 'superheroes in superhero high school' could be fun, but...

Not exactly with this cast of characters.* It's be fun at first, but an entire series? Nope. Could go either way depending on who's in charge though but still...
Plus, the Barbara/Bruce here and that it seemed to be thrown in just for the sake of 'Liek OMG Teenage Love Triangle Drama!!!' And I'm reminded of that one scene 'Mystery of the Batwoman' movie (Atleast I think it was that movie) hinting at these two. *shudders* No thank you.

*Maybe if they went beyond Batman's cast and use other members of the DCU or just use Titans, YJers, and other teen superheroes, (Think Tiny Titans, but in High School), it would be more...plausible? I think the word's I'm looking for.

Yeah, the characters' designs would make this suitable for an Elseworlds one-shot, as long as they really went outside the bounds of the regular characters; have Babs, after she catches Selina flirting with Bruce, go out with the Joker, for example. (Not that she enjoys it, though, especially when he keeps making that pistol-hand at her.)

"Clone High Meets Batman" is definitely the right frame of mind to go with if one were to do something like this, I think. If done right, it could have been a really funny, lovable piss-take/tribute to the Batman mythos.

It's this manga series about a normal kid who ends up going to the same high school as the dumbest thug kids in Japan, Freddie Mercury, a robot, a gorilla, an aspiring dictator, a plane hijacker from South America, a seal, etc. That is exactly where I'd want this to go.

2) Your legality panel is either from the Robin 4-issue miniseries or a Showcase story back when Showcase '92/'93 were running. I can pin it down for you further once I go dig those out and take a look.

I'm sorry. Several of the designs are cute, but I can't get past the utter wrongness of Harvey Dent in cargo shorts.

That, and I feel like the Joker should be rigging fireworks under the bleachers instead of sulking and waving a little flag.

But if they were really trying at all Harvey would have been split between two high school cliches.
