Well, if they want to live together, but editorial mandate says they have to live separately, Ladyhawke wouldn't be a terrible way to go for a while (until editorial changes or changes its mind . . .)
You know what might be a good opportunity here, depending on where this is going? They should place the Halls in copies of their original, Egyptian bodies. It's a rare opportunity to turn two semi-major names into character of color that doesn't require replacing them with successors. The Egypt's angle been there from the beginning, and they've never shied from emphasizing it, so it wouldn't even come off as forced or contrived.
If the story is good, sure, but just making them Egyptian for the sake of making them Egyptian comes across as gimmicky "Hey look we are EXACTLY the same, only EGYPTIAN"
Kendra is there--from what I understand, the Hawkwoman we've been seeing during Brightest Day is, like Carter, an accumulation of all the previous Chey-Aras put together, and that includes Kendra.
Something about Hawkwoman confused me....Because in the Rann-Thanagar War...Shayera was alive..until she died..but yea..shown to be someone completely separate and different person from Kendra..plus isn't Kendra Hawkwoman's granddaughter or niece or something?..*sigh* these Hawks are confusing.
We were warned from the beginning that not all of the resurrections would be good things or have happy endings. The white light may be just as big as threat as Nekron and the Black Lanterns.
Of course I've never understood the whole "do what I say or die" thing considering that it wants something from them. With them alive and together it still gets something. Dead it gets nothing.
I've been assuming it's not a threat, but an literal warning; The Lantern won't kill them, but failing to follow it's orders will result in their death via external means.
Great, I don't care. When every single story about your characters amounts to nothing but continuity wank, I think it's time to just let. them. go. Get rid of the Hawkpeople already.
Seconded. The continuity errors that fly like birds just need to be expunged. Bring them back if ever DC does something similar to Ultimate Marvel and can figure out a good, foolproof, not to be immediately ret-conned hook for them.
A couple in love, who've been separated by tragedy through a series of lifetimes thanks to a curse, have finally broken the curse that's kept them apart, but the thing that brought them back to life has decided to separate them again for no explained reason.
It was going to separate them, but Hawkman kicked up such a fuss that it seems to have chosen to accede to his request, though exactly how is anyone's guess.
