The United Planets of the 853rd century are not the United Planets of the 30th/31st century. In the year 85,271, the U.P. is a mobile planetary cluster, a system of seven worlds slowly migrating its way across the universe. This system is protected by the Justice Legion L.

The Justice Legion L are on a mission.

They're facing a guy named Agent If, who wields a device that allows him to make any supposition he states come true. So as long as he begins a statement with "if," it'll come true. For example, if he says, "If I can survive inside the sun," then he'll be able to.

He's currently using his abilities to break down the United Planets' artificial sun.

The danger seems to be over, and yet...

What she's actually predicting are the events of the DC ONE MILLION main mini-series, where a villain tries to kill Superman, who in the future lives inside the sun. The Legion has no way of knowing that, though.

Cosmicbot still can't make sense of the Dreamer's dream, but Brainiac 417 thinks their leader has all the necessary information now. He just needs some help connecting the dots.

He realizes what the dream must mean.

Just then, some monsters attack the base. Brainiac goes back in time to fetch the one individual with the power to save the day.

The orange-haired kid is secretly Superboy.

The issue ends on that note, to be continued in LEGION OF SUPERHEROES #1,000,000. There's also an ad for a non-existent LEGIONNAIRES #1,000,001, "The Phantom M'Onelves!"

I kind of like the concept of Implicate girl. Consider it yoinked.

Actually, this entire entry does kind of help me a bit; in my rpg setting, I recreated the Legion of super heroes by assigning their powers to the cast of Total Drama Island, then later adding the kids from Sixteen. I've been looking for a way to work the kids from stoked in, but I was running low on Legionaires at that point. Now I got a few more to help even things out.

You were running low on Legionaires? I didn't even know that was possible.

Well, recall there were 25 from the original TDI (Including Chris, who I had become Nemesis Lad), not counting the three from World Tour, plus the six kids from Sixteen, so that's thirty right off the bat.

Plus I wanted to stick, with some exceptions, to the more human like Legionaires, so I haven't used Gates, Blok, or Tellus. So by the time I got around to Stoked! I was kind of running low on guys.

One of the more noted X-Men fanfics, "Kid Dynamo", gives sort of the same power to Cypher. Thanks to a bit of power up through hypnosis, Doug realises that he's not just limited to languages and basically can access the combined intellectual awareness and physical memory of humanity..

Back in newsgroup days, it was (and probably still is) generally considered to be an excellent piece of fanfic and a more logical extension of post Claremont New Mutants than Louise Simonson achieved (It also spares us, amongst other things, Cypher's death, Cable and X-Force in their entirety.) Written by an author named Connie Hirsch and can still be found here

What I'd have liked is for the Justice Legion Alpha bunch to meet the Legionaires of the 30th century.

"If I didn't exist", heh. Foiled by roundabout Descartes.

Agent If seems kind of like an idiot here. Why not just sit at home and make those hypothetical statements to destroy the sun instead of doing it where the Future Legion can see and stop you?

He mentions there that his doodad has a range limit, so presumably he had to get into the sun to affect it.

The Realitoy hasn't got a wide field of effect. Presumably he can't say "If only my realitoy had a range of 4 million AU" or something

Geek info bonus point, in the flashback scene, which starts with "Our" Legion and ends with the 1 Million Legion, the one in the middle is from the Legion's "Legends of the Dead Earth" event Annual.

Oh, and I rather love the Mon'Elves
