...this pretty much sums up my relationship with JL:GL. There are bits of it I like and other bits...



...not so much. Not thrilled with Ice's new costume.



I was gonna do actual backgrounds for this one, but then I didn't. Oops.

This is one of those things were I had two or three okay jokes and I ended up using them instead a single good joke. Huh.

I kinda love Nate Grey. It's so neat that he's alive again. Scott needs a kid at home now that Rachel's up in outer space.




Yep, another Nate Grey piece. Yep, kept pretty much the same exact punchline. Felt like I coulda done more with this, but whatever. It didn't feel right having the ending be Nate making Hope feel bad about how relatively little she's done as the Mutant Messiah, a role he filled back in the 90s. (They really played up the Nate=Jesus thing back then.)


No references, I just kinda cranked it out.


What's up with Nate, anyway? Have we seen him post-Dark X-men?

I saw the first one floating around Tumblr. You make a very valid point about Jaime and his advanced alien bug suit.

I don't know anything about Nate Grey. Why doesn't he get pants?

Also in my excitement over the possibility of Nate being back, I forgot to comment on your comics: adorable and hilarious. Especially amused by Emma being all motherly with Nate and chasing him around with his pants.

there were pix floating around to promo the whole x-men/vampires thing that showed him as a vampire. Apparently that fell through, but he's supposed be being tracked down by the new mutants in the near future according to solicits.

Good thing that idea got dropped. I'd rather have Nate floating around in limbo than come back as a vampire, unless they somehow devamp him.

Okay, so I giggled too much when I saw Vic pop up behind the Cuckoos
and at the fact that the Cuckoos themselves were so adamant about the pants.

Well it was revealed earlier this week that Cyclops is sending the New Mutants team after Nate (and apparently 616 Blink), in order to "tie up old loose ends"...

I'm not entirely sure if that means that the New Mutants have become a new kill team Cyle is sending after his children or if they're just trying to force Nate and Blink to come with them back to Utopia.

I have no clue why Nate would be badguy after Dark X-men, but apparently he spent too much time in that box Dark Beast made.

I don't know about Nate, but Blink isn't evil anymore. In the To Serve and Protect mini there was a story where Emma Frost along with Dr. Strange and some other X-Men tracked her down and Strange was able to "purge" Selene's influence out of Blink. Blink was basically horrified that she had killed people because of Selene and teleported away when Emma was trying to convince her to come back to Utopia. If anything, I'd say that Cyke is probably sending the New Mutants to get her because Emma told him to. lol.

That little "yeah!"-face and thumbs up in the bottom left panel is cuuuute, and really quite funny when I remember he is nude below the belt.
