A fun new meme has shown up on tumblr

asofterdcu takes the template from A Softer World and recasts it with DCU characters.... For these ones, it seemed apt to post the actual stips first, then click on them to see the asofterdcu version.

And these I can't find the originals of in the archives or the links, I'll try and mix and match them if I find them, but they're too much fun not to share!

Oh, a clear conscience is one thing. A lack of regard for the consequences is quite another. ;)

There genuinely is NO better webcomic. In fact, this might be the best thing that I read regularly.

Wired invited other writers to do the same not too long ago:

Some pretty good stuff all around:

Yeah, his is great - also the first Gregory Maguire, and the last by Steven Meretzky. (He was probably referring to the movie, but Ironically, 'Fuck it, I'll stay here' is a pretty good summation of what a lot of the later books were like. Who the hell would WANT to leave Oz, if you had the option not to?)

oo, ace. I love Bruce Sterling's. And Harry Harrison's.

Few of six-word stories work.

Meretzky, Atwood won in my eyes.

Agreed. Atwood's six word stories are honest to god the only pieces of writing I've ever liked from her.

I'm torn between confused and touched, which is usually what happens when I read these... memes, I guess.

Also, what issue did the group hug with Red Robin come from?

The link on the third one, "You won't live forever", just takes me to the original again.

Man, archive binged these like a year and a half ago, it's weird seeing them pop up everywhere. Like all fandoms are doing these now and it's awesome. I just keep getting a weird sense of Déjà vu because I barely remember them.

Ahh, there's a fandom I don't think has gotten on this trend yet, I can see a few working for Tony in a more depressive mindset.

Like this one!

Indeed, I lack the scans to actually make these as well, but I can't stop.

(Find any for Steve? most of these seem a bit gloomy and I haven't found a "should have left me in the ice sentiment yet")

Here's one with Tony actually in it. I think it was when he was just starting to be able to wear facial hair and did not know better about the soul patch.

The 2nd one about 'Attacking Erogenous Zones', made me think of Emma Frost's 'erotic assault' in New X-Men.
