She's pretty and all, but there is something missing in the pics and the attitude.

Dignity. Commanding presence. A woman of strength, both inner our and outer, who leads by example and action. While Wonder Woman is the personification of such ideals, her alter ego should also reflect those, but FAR more subtly.

well remember, Diana has three identities here. One is Diana Prince, one is Diana Themyscria, and the other is Wonder Woman.

this Diana Prince might be the opposite of the "Mild Mannered" trope.

It's only a few stills though, and it's hard to tell her attitude and bearing from that. Also, she's not actually being filmed here, is she? So maybe she's just being Adrianna Palicki, hanging around on set - not Diana.

It's not that I don't agree with you, but I'm just not sure if Golda Meir would want to put on a star-spangled unitard. Also she's dead.

Not that I don't have issues with the costume's shiny-ness, I'm fairly certain those are on-set candids taken while Palicki was not filming.

Yeah, these look okay to me as she's not filming, and whilst no expert on such things, a simple white dress (with an admittedly rather plunging neckline) could be a whole lot worse.

While I haven't been charmed by anything that I've heard about this series' take on Wonder Woman; judging that an actress can't play a character with dignity, commanding presence and strength (both inner our and outer) just from her appearance seems wrong somehow.

I agree - and Palicki has been impressive elsewhere, so I hope the script gives her a chance to do so here.

I actually think the white dress is quite beautiful. I'm a tad bemused by the forties style pin waves she seems to have in her hair, but so be it.

What still gets me is the pose in the WW shot. Hips cocked, shoulders pulled right back, all the better to lift and separate and shriek TITS to the world...

And you're right about the shoulders-back pose. It's silly--& quite unnecessary with Palicki's build.

I would suggest watching a few episodes of Friday Night Lights' first season, where Adrianne played Tyra Collette. She definitely can pull this off.

What's bothering me most is how ill-tailored that dress is. So many wrinkles!

I love that the dress is white. I don't love the cut, in general or for Wonder Woman specifically. A better dress would be one made of a somewhat thicker and less clingy material (that material looks like a more opaque version of the half-slip I wear under some of my dresses that would otherwise cling to my legs in odd-looking ways, not like a cloth good for making any garment to be worn without a second layer besides a night-dress), with a more A-line skirt, a slightly higher neckline that gives only a tiny hint of cleavage (are they planning on having her secret identity get out by someone recognizing her boobs or something?), and perhaps a discreet accent like a tan belt or small sliver necklace to pull the outfit together. I also reiterate my commentary on the costume: the fact that it has pants is really great, but I hate that it looks like the material is a rubber body suit with plastic accents; if the outfit was re-made to look like leather or sturdy cloth with metal accents (bronze and steel are fine! it doesn't have to look like gold and silver, just real metal) with shoulder straps on the bodice and lower-heeled red boots, I would probably love it. So... basically... most of my beef on the outfits for Wonder Woman has been about bad choice in fabric. For crying out loud! Stop with the weirdly clingy skin-tight bodypaint fabrics! Do they have something against cotton, linen, silk (because I'm pretty sure that dress is not silk, fyi, unless the person sewing it seriously didn't know what they were doing), leather, and every good synthetic under the sun?

She still looks too young to me. I've always pictured WW as late 20s, early 30s. I agree with those who've said this actress lacks presence. This may be shots of her out of character, but you can kinda tell she doesn't really have Diana's calm nobility.

I don't think the actress or the costume is going to tank this show. I think it's going to be the script and the fact that the producers just don't seem to get Wonder Woman.
