I was really dreading this issue because of the whole Doomsday crossover, but Dick and Kara are so freaking adorable.



Later Bodikka appears and Kara starts talking to her and she ignores Dick so he worries





Of course Doomsday pops up and Dick is all "OMG! Kara I'm coming!" then Kara screams for him when Doomsday makes his ship explode (but Dick's ok cause he has a space batsuit!) and she spends the rest of the issue engaging Doomsday and trying to protect Dick from him

Also in the letter columns someone asked for Supergirl to have a boyfriend and gave Freddy and Dick as examples, they were told that Kara is 17 and too young for Dick, which makes me smile because I really like their relationship to remain that of siblings, I just think they have a greater dynamic that way (same goes for Dick and Donna).

Some kinda effect on her from the recent Dark Things story where the Starheart went out of control.

It's awkward though. I think their are actually two Supergirls floating around and no ones noticed.

At the end of Dark Things Kara flies off wondering why she didn't get controlled when others had and then we see Dark Supergirl flying somewhere, possibly as foreshadowing or possibly to say she was split. But DSupergirl seems less evil and instead just Kara being more angry and free. It's hard to tell exactly at this point.

I ship Dick/Kara too, but the Zor-L version. Dick's been showing up way too often in Power Girl and JSA. It's almost as if Peej goes out of her way to find excuses to invite him over or go over to the Batcave.

Thank you. Same here. That's one of those relationships I see people ship so hard but all I can think is..yeaa...no. That is the last thing I'd ever want to see. Keep it platonic.

As for Supergirl, yea, keep her single for now. Everyone doesn't need to hook up all the time. I have my list of who I ship but it's not that big either. You gotta convince me for one to even want it to happen or I'd just have to be able to see it. So there. Besides..last b/f she had deserved a good knee in the balls, which he got courtesy of her.

What's the story behind Dark Supergirl?

Darkseid gave Lex Black K which split her into good supergirl and dark supergirl. Wonder Woman got her lasso around both of them and asked who was the real Kara and they merged leaving Kara as we know her.

In September's JLA we saw Dark Supergirl staring out of Kara's reflection. When Omega blasted her with something Dark Supergirl took over Kara. Its being used as a coping device after New Krypton. The good Kara is hiding behind her more confident persona.

Kara turned 18 in her own comic book as part of the New Krypton story referenced above so I guess they're de-aging her again?

Also is there any reference at all to how exactly New Krypton went all kaplooey? You know, the tiny fact that the armed forces of Earth (in a war they instigated) and Lex Luthor planted a bomb and committed genocide - something the Green Lantern Corp., nor the Jupiterans or Thangarians (both of which signed treaties with New Krypton during the WONK series) seem to care about. Nor does Supergirl, Superman or apparently either Batman seem concerned about bringing the perpetrators to justice (Reactron said in Kara's presence IIRC that Lex Luthor created/planted the bomb and the President of the US in the DCU signed off on all Sam Lane's plans).

If you're going to push the re-set button on all the New Krypton stuff, fine. But if DC is going to deal with it - at least deal with it honestly. It was "genocide" (James Robinson's own words in an interview) of an entire species and it wasn't just the work of one rogue individual (Sam Lane). You would think some in the "Justice" League would be interested in it.

And I am so over the "Dark" Supergirl like yesterday. How many times are they going to replay this scenario?

IIRC, the destruction of New Krypton was done outside of the government. Lois mentions her father standing trial for his crimes in War of the Supermen just before he says "No prisoners," and eats his own gun. So it would've been just Lane, Luthor and whoever was loyal to Lane. I'm assuming everyone from Project 7734 got shoved into the slammer (with maybe the exception of Luthor and then whoever else died) since their HQ was outed and everything during the Hundred Minute War.

But this is comics. They're never going to show anything like that, unfortunately.

At the very beginning of New Krypton they had a flashback of then President Pete Ross signing Project 7734 into existence as one of the things he did before he left office - and then they never picked up on that thread. They also had Lane mention that President Whathisname of the US was aware of what he was doing to defend the country or some such...and certainly some of the people involved in exterminating the Kryptonians were not Project 7734 members. In War of the Supermen we had cameos of supposed super-heroes like Young Frankenstein (of the TT) killing K's with a Kryptonite sword (how did he get that?). Or how about the members of the military stationed on Mars who literally suffocated Kal-El's Red Shard corps to death in space. I doubt there were any "war trials". Lois herself said that her father was looked upon as a hero and when Superman testified about Lex's involvement he was ignored. And as I mentioned isn't it part of the Green Lantern Corps as literal "cops" to deal when one planet commits genocide on another - or don't those rules apply when all 4 of that particular sector's GLs are from Earth (the aggressor planet)?

I'm just saying if Robinson is going to re-open the wounds of his own storyline (which frankly made Earth out to be villain since Lane was even behind the killing of Zor-El who wanted peace) he should deal with the ramifications. Or else don't bother. You can't just eliminate an entire species. leaving the handful of survivors either in the Phantom Zone maybe forever or refugees hiding on the very planet that killed their loved ones and then just drop it (partly why I think blowing up New Krypton instead of just shrinking it or moving it was such a dumb move by DC).

Since they don't want the Kryptonians around I'm hoping for a Mxyzmptlk story where he offers to bring them back if Supes does something, but he sticks them somewhere where they're alive but out of reach. Like Universe Prime.
