I think this may be the greatest thing ever. MUMMIFIED SPACE ALIEN MIND CONTROL GUY. YEAH. I've never read Vampi #65. What is the story here? I MUST KNOW.

That was her new edgier origin from the 90's. She was an alien for 30 years before Kurt Busiek of all people retconned it as implanted memories.

I really should check out Vampirella someday. She seems like a cool character with some good stories to her, but I always used to write her off as porn because of her costume.

There's a lot of titillation in Vampirella. Sometimes it's tongue in cheek, sometimes it can get gross. It's hard to do a sexy book in a sexist society, you know? It's definitely worth checking her out, especially the older stuff, which is really weird and fun.

In the current series, the costume does show cleavage, but it's positively modest compared to her "classic" outfit.

Vintage can be fun, but I think you need to define "Vintage" a little more?

That's sort of the thing, "Vintage" is a completely non-period specific term.

Even in wine, it really only means "a year's crop" or "season's crop", it doesn't even mean a GOOD season, just a season.

It's like when Isaac Asimov (or possibly Ray Bradbury) was asked to identify "The true Golden Age of science-fiction" and replied "Twelve".

So if we were tasked to pick our favourite story for an age in our lives it might be a challenge, but you see why "Vintage" is a bit tricky to define. :)
