"Any votes for Beasts of Burden - animals have feelings too under the category of Most Positive portrayal of the differently abled -both physically and mentally will be ignored. I was stupid to have included this nomination. I'm sorry. --Salad Barbarian"

Okay, wow, this falls into the "really not right" category, something I did not expect to see in this community.

Lumping portrayals of people with disabilities in with dogs and cats is just not right and isn't how this anti-ableist, anti-oppression thing is supposed to work.

I want to apologize. I am sorry to be responsible for this. This was my nomination and it was not intended to demean anybody or offend anyone. It was originally intended as a statement of animal rights (I believe animals have the right to live and live pain-free as much as any people do, anyone). I was simply drawing analogies between issues, not drawing similarities between the groups. But seeing it on the list this way, I agree that it was inappropriate and wish I could take it back. I apologize for offending anyone.

I don't think why it's necessary to differentiate between non-human and human persons here. To be fair, I haven't read Beasts of Burden, so I don't know how positive that portrayal is, and I realize that while this community isn't anti-speciest, but anti-oppression ALSO concerns animals.

Being lumped into the same category with animals is only offensive for people if they think of animals being LESS than human. And that thought is oppressive, too.

(Really, I am not trying to start a fight or anything, just think of this as food for thought, at least?)

Alright then, then the complaint makes more sense to me. It read to me that the original comment was about it not being okay to lump human persons with disabilities with non-human persons with disabilities. But if the animals in Beasts of Burden do not have any disabilities, they really don't belong in this category.

Thank you for clarifying :)

Man, the only reason I didn't question whether the best and worst costume lists were switched were the presence of Solstice and the Tron Spider-man costumes on their respective lists. (Only voted for Solstice, since I'm the one person other than the artist who actually kind of likes Spider-Tron... His FF costume, on the other hand...)

'Cuz, seriously, the current Arsenal look might be worse than 2 or 3 of his 6 previous costumes (Arsenal mark iv, Red Arrow, and arguably Speedy), but it's better than the other three (seriously, Roy's taste in costumes sucks) OR Mon-El's Green Lantern look.

I think my big issue with the Spider-Tron outfit was that it was poorly drawn, rather than the design itself.

Mind you, I don't really mind the FF costume, although it'd be hell to keep clean in New York.

I assume it's self cleaning (I mean, if it can morph into other costumes, it should darn well clean itself!), otherwise it'd drive me insane over that.

I would have to agree--Arsenal as a character growth was a BAD idea, but the costume isn't that bad.
