So I found this story and really enjoyed it, and I wanted to share it with you all. I considered saving all the images from this and posting them here, but I think that would do the story and the artist/writer a grave disservice, given its set up and presentation on the website. You'll know what I mean when you read it. As for the story itself, the less said the better, so without further ado...

I believe it's been posted here before, just around Halloween 2010 but yeah, great story. But it was creepy as all hell to me.

And thank you for that! Twas fun to see, fears of sleeping in the dark notwithstanding.

That was both incredibly unsettling and incredibly unsatisfying. Does that make sense?

Yes, actually. I can't describe it, but I guess I was disappointed at the end that the last picture didn't scare me properly?

Eh, I can't make sense.

That's how I felt too ^^. I'd worked myself up to be all creeped out and was enjoying the pacing of the writing and images and then it just ended. Maybe I just lack the imagination to be properly scared by open-ended stories..._o_.

I thought the same thing, and then immediately felt guilty. It's like we're too used to having horror beat us over the head, so we can't appreciate something enigmatic the way we should...? Maybe?...

I don't think it's quite the same thing. I think ambiguity is key to good horror. On the other hand, I also like stories to kind of work as stories, rather than just experiences, y'know? This has visceral punch, but not much else. Cup of tea and all that, I guess...

What do you think would've helped? Should it have been longer?

(I feel like something was missing, too. But for the life of me, I can't figure out what.)

An epilogue or something. I'd at least would have liked to have seen what happened to the protagonist. As it is, it feels more like a nightmare than a story, but I'm sure that's plenty to satisfy the sensibilities of people who just want a good scare.

Interesting.

I'll have to think about this some more...

Niiiice. I love the open-endedness of it.

The story was creepy, but the adorableness of the art kinda stopped it from sending shivers of my spine. It's a really cool project, though, and the art was wicked nice.

I'm reminded a lot of Richard Sala (not a criticism, BTW).

I know.

Have you looked through her blog? Her art is just so.. just so. It's like you can see respect for life and feeling in it.

I like everything she does, but especially her versions of characters from Mass Effect, Bioshock and Fallout 3 tickle me.

I don't really have much familiarity with any of the games, but she makes "creepy dead people in love" look so wholesome, I am in awe.

You know, yesterday I saw this and thought 'YOU CAN'T MAKE ME CLICK THIS'. So today in the light of day I *did* click it. I didn't get it for about 2 seconds and then AWGH WHY WOULD YOU REMIND ME OF THAT. XD
