Hello my lovelies! I bring you a teaser for the upcoming X-Men event: Schism

Oh my god, there is so much subtext....if they keep fighting perhaps their clothes will come off fully? This pleases me....greatly.

Also, two covers from Uncanny X-Force 13 and 14.

Uncanny X-Force #13 & #14
Written by: Rick Remender
Penciled by: Mark Brooks (#13) & Jerome Opeña (#14)
Covers by: Esad Ribic
Variant Cover by: Chris Bachalo
The Dark Angel Saga: Part 3
Years ago, Wolverine helplessly watched as Jean Grey, the love of his life, died before his eyes. Years later, he would lose his best-friend Nightcrawler to a similar fate. In order to save our world, can he allow them to die again? X-Force team up with The Amazing X-Men for the final push against the heir of Apocalypse, in a battle Royale that will force Wolverine to make the hardest choice of his life. One world must die!

Oooh....interesting....so I guess the woman we didn't recognize on that last cover was AOA Jean?

Its good to see the final Horsemen back in place. Hopefully back in the story. I think they have the potential to be great X-enemies, and i was kind of sad to see them pushed out so quickly.

...wait, so the events of New X-men happened years ago? In universe? That's warping the timeline a bit, I think.

Also, I'm hoping they don't kill AoA Jean. I feel like Jean's gonna be like when you see an alternate reality with Gwen Stacy or Illyana Rasputin, where as soon as they appear you just KNOW that they're going to die.

"Jean died a few years ago" leaves a lot of possibilities as to when he's talking about :)

The timeline is of course massively wobbly, but with the 6 months between Avengers #500 and New Avengers #1, and the year between Captain America #25 and #600, time seems to have been passing at a fair clip recently. I could easily believe 2 years.

He could have meant the original Phoenix? They know she wasn't the 'real' Jean, but the emotions were still there.

Jean actually died in the original AoA storyline.
She was killed by Havoc zapping her while her back was turned concentrating on a TK shield to prevent the Human High Council's nukes from destroying everything.
There is a very poignant line about Logan wishing she could come back from the dead, but knowing that she was no Phoenix.
Unfortunately that was retconned by the writer for the AoA 10year anniversary storyline that I often try to forget about.

I like the Big Tusked guy on that Uncanny X-Force cover! Oh and Beast is kinda handsome too.

Also how does Scott expect to win that battle with Logan? Blast him? And then watch him heal and come back for more?

In theory, Scott should be able to beat Logan pretty easily. Without his glasses, Scott could probably blast him into lots of tiny bits or at least, knock him into the next state. (Or the ocean, if they're still on that island.)

'course, they've amped Logan's healing factor up so much that that probably wouldn't do anything outside of mildly inconviencing him anyway...

He could always hold him down and blast wolverine's skull with his eye beams until his brains oozed out of his nose.

At least, that's the way it works in my daydreams.

Have I mentioned how I loath loath loath loath unkillable wolvervine? I keep hoping one of his enemies has the foresight to bring a bigass magnet to the fight and just throw him(and the magnet) into the ocean or a volcano or something.

And I used to love him so: you know, when he was still short, and flawed, and bearable, and conflicted, and basically trying not to murder his way out of every problem.

Apparently this is a new AoA Holocaust.

From Remender's last X-Position at CBR

3) With the upcoming "Age of Apocalypse" arc, will we see Dark Beast, Sugarman, Holocaust, or Nate Grey?

Dark Beast plays an integral role, as does Holocaust -- but not the Holocaust you know, someone very different. Sugar Man and Nate Grey are currently involved in their own shenanigans.

Don't know why but the codename HOLOCAUST always offended me.

And that Schism cover needs less clothes, stat.

Holocaust was seen as a very controversial naming choice at the time of his first appearance, given the connotations that the term has picked up since WWII.

IIRC they renamed him "Nemesis" after a while because of that, so I'm a little surprised to see them use the original name again.

Also, wait. That's supposed to be Jean? I thought it was Yukio or something. She looks too Japanese to be Jean.

I would thought scans_daily would comment more on the sexual nature of the UXF #13 cover, with Jean in that totally submissive position to Logan there.

I'm not seeing the homoerotic subtext at all, but my God, I would buy multiple copies of this damn thing if it ends with someone - anyone- beating Doucheclops into the ground once and for all. I am so sick of that character.

And I do hope they don't kill AoA Jean. That would turn her into little more than a mean spirited running gag.

I am in no way a Wolverine fanboy, but I find it very hard to believe Cyclops (of all the X-men to face him) has real a chance of taking him down. Especially if he snuck up on him.

All of them are nice covers. I know covers lie and all but if Wolverine got that close to Cyke in a fight Cyke would be dead. With a bit of space I do think Cyke could blast Wolvie seriously far out to sea which would be effective. Or crush/pulverise him but the healing factor would probably take care of that.

AoA-Logan is... looking pretty Apocalypse-like in that Uncanny X-Force cover... The armor, the elbow tubes, even the pout. That is an Apocalypse Pout. Hmm all of them have yellow eyes on that cover. Could signify Apocalypse possessing their bodies in different parts of the story.

In terms of who would win, this is really one of those Superman/Flash (speed) or Superman/Hulk (strength) questions, and it really depends on more on which version of each character you're talking about and all sorts of external factors: is it a completely open, featureless arena, like the Danger Room with the special effects off (advantage: Scott) or the woods (advantage: definitely Logan)? How far away are they when the duel starts? How fast, exactly, is Logan? What's the shutter speed of Scott's visor? Etc. The first time that they squared off, Scott deliberately started the fight because they had just encountered Proteus for the first time and Logan was severely freaked out by the distortions to his senses, so it was really a draw.

Not innately; on the other hand, the holes in Cyclops' uniform mostly look to have been the result of being pulled and ripped by hand rather than being cut by three parallel blades in a fight...
