heh heh heh

(legality pics of wolv vs cyclops after the cut.)

Well lets start out to see how that match up might go in the Ultimate universe.

Oh God that's horrible, alright back to 616

Hmm seems to have gone Scott's way

Hmm more evidence for ol' Cyclops

Hmm and some for Wolvie.

Tough choice!

Okay, so I'm confused, why was Jean laser'd right through in the first set?

As with most "vs." it's all about the set-up and situational.

I have those CC issues where they fight in Scotland. Awesome.

Of course, the Ultimateverse also had that one Cyclops/Wolverine fight that was very...decisive.

*snorts*

Too bad Logan's being off the team wasn't decisive.

Oh Ultimate universe...I always looked at it as a delicate balancing act between hating the charmless, violent unpleasantness and loving being able to see awesome moments like this one without having all the enjoyment sucked out of it by my knowledge of the characters involved.

As noted, the first scans are a Danger Room scenario. Cyclops ends up trouncing Wolverine pretty thoroughly much later.

In regular Marvel Universe canon, I think if Logan seriously goes after Cyke, he's going DOWN.

But yeah, depends on the writer and if it's in Logan's own book.

Not so sure about that. Cyke is meaner than he looks (insert tired reference to him beating all the X-men combined here) He has to be more worried about collateral damage than Wolvie though. (otherwise he'd just keep him pinned with his punch-gaze)

Yeah the guy whose superpower is KITCHEN KNIVES (real sharp ones!) is totally taking down the guy who can literally knock you out by looking at you.

I mean granted Wuffles does still stand an even chance here, thanks to the most important superpower of all - the power of dreadful, popularity-driven writing.

But I mean right after that, the Garth Ennis-written Punisher will pop out from behind a corner and beat the shit out of him (and Spider-Man! At the same time!) so it all evens out I guess.

Well, the claws are kind of irrelevant. If you can sneak up on Cyclops before he catches sight of you--which Wolverine can, in a scenario where he's allowed to use his ninja mojo--you can take him out with a sock full of quarters. Heck, heave a brick at Scott's head and you don't even have to sneak up very far.

Of course, that assumes a scenario where Cyclops cares about his environment. Ninja powers won't help if Scott ditches his glasses and does the "GET OFF MY LAWN" thing.

Frankly, in pretty much any scenario, Wolverine's chances would improve if you stole all of his superpowers and handed him a pistol.

Wolverine's most useful ability - being Kitty Pryde, except without any kind of superpower that would make that ability actually really useful.

I always ranked him low in power polls because of...well scenes like these. It's not just Cyclops but Spider-man swatted him, the punisher ran him over, and well yeah. I mean Wolverines good but I think he's one of the weaker Marvel heroes when his healing factor is not at 11.

Made somewhat worse in that Ky marries Dizzy who is Sol's daughter, and then Sol proceeds to bring their son along with him for a man-journey.

The GG universe is rock and roll plus some serious soap opera drama.

I prefer to pretend that Overture never happened, as far as I'm concerned the series ended with Accent Core Plus >_>

It's not that I'm particularly upset that Ky married a woman. When one of my yaoi OTP has one of the guys engaged or married to a girl, I usually just ship them as OT3 *points at icon*

It's that Ky married and knocked up a three year old girl. Even if Dizzy is physically and adult and (officially) has the mental capacity of an adult, she is still three years old, and judging from the way she acts (she doesn't seem to realize that she is wearing a S&M costume, she is always portrayed as extremely innocent and naive and childlike, in Accent Core + she is constantly yearning for her parents, and she spent most of her 3 years alone in a forest), she is emotionally a little kid too.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if immediately before getting pregnant she still believed that babies are carried by storks. Add to that the fact that she originally went to Ky to ask for his help, that her guardian only allowed her to see Ky because he assumed that Ky wouldn't try anything funny, that Ky is supposed to be a honorable paladin who would never do anything morally questionable, that Ky scolded Testament for keeping Dizzy segregated in a forest in GGX only to pull a 180° and keep her segregated in his castle before GG2...

...Yeah, not a fan of Ky/Dizzy. I like both characters, just not together, I feel their relationship is character assassination for both.

Plus, the fact that Dizzy is most likely Sol's daughter kind of adds insult to injury.

The whole scene is. The bit where Wolverine sort of chops across the beam, instead of simply holding up the whatchamacallit sword and deflecting it? As if the beam wouldn't have taken his head off once he stopped blocking it with the sword (as if that were possible in the first place)? The genius of Daniel Way, ladies and germs.

I always liked the one in Astonishing where Cyke says "I want this thing off my lawn" before blasting a Sentinel down in one shot.

No, it wasn't against Wolverine, but it sure seemed to earn his respect just the same.
